The Racer reprofiling....why?

I've asked this question of ride-ops and such but never got a satisfactory answer:  Why was the final bunny hop on PKI's Racer removed about 3-4 years ago?  It had some good headchoppers.

My only guess is that they cut away too much from it when they tunnelled through for the FoF queue and were forced to remove it.

I have no idea why this type of removal took place, but I remember that the last speed hill on Dorney's Thunderhawk was removed quite a few years ago.  Again, I have no explanation, but I can see it being done to make a longer brake run, perhaps to give the train more room to slow down/stop before reaching the station.
It actually was to make room for FOFs entrance. I always remember counting the hops, and the last couple of years it was short one.

Well, it was not reprofiled to make room for FOF. The FACT is, is according to the lead carpenter on the wood rides at PKI, The newer trains (with headrests ect.) were coming in too fast and they had problems slowing them (personally, i think its a lame excuse) so, with the current computer system and the blocking methods it was nessessary to remove the last dip, and install a trim on the turnaround as well.

****My opinion is PKI aviods as much extra wear and tear as they can at the riders expense.
I know their budget can afford it.

An added note, there was always a space under the Racer (which is the FOF path) since the start of the park (1972) for vehicles

Because it is Kings Island's policy to eventually remove the last dip from all their wood coasters. Such a pity; on Son of Beast that last dip is one of the best parts of the whole ride.....

LOL! Yeah won't be long before that one gets the axe. Or is that the saw?? Even the Beastie got it.

I back up John....I talked with the same person, and I also grew up there! Kings Island is not what it used to be for wooden thrills........I'd take a spin on KD's Scooby Doo any day instead!! No brakes!

PKD's Scooby Doo is one wild ride!  It may be small...and a family coaster....but it packs a punch!  Maybe I caught it on a very good day, because that thign was FLYING  along the track!  I was in the back seat and that first drop was a surprise!  It looks so small and pathetic, but it has a LOT of airtime and speed throughout that small course!  I loved it!.

Its wierd cause I dont ever remember seeing that "path" underneath the Racers until FOF was put up. Maybe im not observant. Thats probabily it.
