The question of X

About X's issues. Yes, it is a nightmare, yes it is a park favorite. The ride might be shutting down at the end of the summer from what I've heard to see if they can fix some of its problems.

However, this plan is reminiscent of the rehab last year, where it took them over three months to make changes that still haven't helped.

One problem I see with your plan, Bob, is that it totally screws patrons who show up after the "final month." Not everyone has a season pass and can visit the park anytime they want. There may very well be people who are hoping to get on X (and are headed to the park for that reason) after that period and don't have any other time they can visit the park (for whatever reason). They'll either cancel their visit or generate similar negative publicity (I'm sure the downtime on TTD did some pretty big damage to their huge ad campaign).

Granted, at this point, most people who wanted to ride X have already gotten to, but I see very little reason to head to the park if X is not up.

See very little reason to head to the park if X is not up? That's like saying Cedar Point is not worth visiting if Top Thrill Dragster is down. There's still a slew of other rollercoasters to patronize even if X is down.

For me there's certainly very little reason. I've been 3 times, (from Boston, mostly to ride X) and even with the addition of Scream, I'd only be headed to SFMM for X and for the credit on Scream.

While the GP may feel there are plenty of other great rides (which there are) I would imagine the park would not see the same attendance it gets with X up, even when it causes bad publicity and causes Deja Vu to be down (and all kind of other rides).

I agree, Ive heard a bunch of stuff about X's status in safety and stuff but I never shoot of my mouth and try to impress people because I dont know whats really going on. For all I know X could be the safest ride in the world.
