The Orient Express has left the station

TOOT......TOOT.........and good riddence!

The Orient Express was the first steel-looping rollercoaster I was ever on and it will therefore remain in my heart for a long time. But, it was also a piece of junk that needed to come down. Too much repair costs and an overall poor ride have caused this poor investment to close at the end of this season. Worlds of Fun desperately needs to makes some drastic changes because the park is clearly performing horribly.

Stop the train I need to get off!!! I hasn't been announced that OE is leaving. So you shouldn't say that it is.

How old are you people?

The only thing that has been "quasi-announced" is the fact that WOF is getting a new spinning coaster called SPINNING DRAGON. This information was released in the 2004 "school days" informational packets that have been sent out to area school districts. As for the topic of the thread, that information has not been made public. The KC Star, did run an article on WOF this past week and made mention that a PR would occur this week.

Beware the SPINNING DRAGON only at WOF in 2004

Orient Express did NOT live up to the expectations for a similar ride to Nessie, but it wasn't so bad as to warrant removal. I thought it was a nice addition to the arsenal of rides at WoF, even if it wasn't my particular favorite.

bill, hoping Spinning Dragon doesn't *replace* OE, rather supplemets it....seemed like there was plenty of room in that area of the park....

What happens at the end of The Neverending Story?

Performing horribly? A 25% drop from its all-time high hardly spells doom. Give it a rest. It's not as if a hyper-giga-monster coaster will solve all of life's problems anyway.

Anyone been on a spinning mouse? They can be fun, but to be honest, the traveling Reverchon I've tried was an anticipointment. Here's hoping the Gertlauers are better.
