It would be called "BORE" Bush/Gore. The entire course would take turns dodging each other then meet up in the section of the course called the debate. After the debate they race to the finish. The only problem is no one finds out who wins. ;)
Anyone eles have any ideas?

Yeah how about the apathetic coaster? Or the "no one cares about anything" coaster

You build it, I'll ride it
I, for one, find the election to be VERY exciting. Never in the history of our country has an election been so close, and I follow it with very much anticipation. Of course, it is the 1st presidential election I've had the privilege to vote in (yes voting is a right, but I feel privileged to live in a country that supports this right). Ok enough of this patriotic crap. I would ride BORE because it sounds like it would be the exact opposite, a GUSH or excitement. (Ok, lame wordplay, but it was all I could come up with!)
And from the looks of it one of the coasters would have to run the track a second time to ensure it won the race.
Seriously though, we don't have any idea how significant this is until years down the road. This could have far reaching political implications that we haven't even thought of yet. Years from now people will claim they were up to see Bush be declared the winner and then it be taken back. Fortunately I was! But now I'm really paying for the 4 hrs of sleep I got last night. Oh well...
Now if only those damn Floridians could count! ;) (No offense, just feeding off of the humor of the natives in a previous thread.)
Yeah, it's off topic, but as long as it doesn't turn into a party line debate (and not the kind of party line where people whisper naughty things to you over the phone), I'm OK with it.
Coasterpunk is so on with this one! I can't remember a time that two candidates ever did less for me. They're both so down the middle (except on social issues which have no business in politics). Of course, who can blame them? In this time of relative prosperity, do you want to be at the helm if things tank? Bill will be long gone by that time for anyone to blame him!
All kidding aside, I've only missed one election since turning 18, and that makes I think 20 elections including the specials held in my county. I consider it an obligation to know what's going on and make choices. That gives me free reign to ***** and moan when things suck!

Don't forget that some people might be confused as to which train they're sitting in and a few may even sit in both trains by mistake.

Also, no matter what side of the coaster you sit on, you'll get the strange feeling that you should have ridden the other side ;P

SOMETHING IS COMING!!!
In 2001 a new *beast* will rise at SFMM.
Well, if we're going to create this thing, there has to be some theming as well. Especially the station where monitors could have commentary about one train winning, then changing to the other, then saying it's "Too Close To Call".
Maybe even add a third (overseas) train to the enter at the final braking run to seemingly knock one train off the track.

Remember, no matter where you go...there you are.
And it'd need a third, smaller track, that diverts some of the potential riders from one of the main tracks, thereby increasing the relative ridership of the other main track.

News from Palm Beach county! First, the above ideas are outstanding--we could stay on the coaster until we have a definitive winner.
Can we build an out-and-back that will take us overseas for a 10 day ride? And the tracks must absolutely cross, so that we do not know which we were on.
Man, I'm lost now. Sounds like I am a part of my county's electorate. This election IS exciting! So exciting, we just cannot let it end. Who the heck did I just vote for?
Now, Jeff, we kan kount...we jist kan't spel our
kanidates name....1 and 1 iz 19,000....Otay? Where iz my dam holepunch?
Dueling coaster name? Hmmmmmmm....I really meant that I wanted to pick the above selections. But I think I voted for, geeez, I think it was .....I'll hafta try to remember later. There already is a Mind Eraser, yes?
Our new coaster absolutely must be loaded with trick-track.

Palm Beach, checking in again...and again and...again.
I couldn't finish my last thoughts because I hadda run off to pick up my 10 year old from school. Dropped her by the Clerk's office so she could change her vote, and quickly ran back home before I completely forgot this thread.
Otay, we're considering the next GREAT dueling coaster, and we're going to make a decision. Huh?
Do you KNOW where I'm from? You want a decision?
Sorry, keep getting carried away with this stuff. I, like Jeff, love civics, and love watching the process take place. And, these days, EVERY election cycle is so predictable and goring,... errr... boring. They don't even fight at the conventions any more. It's just a "parade of stars."
So, this is once in a lifetime, and very, very exciting to me.
Oh yeah.......dueling coaster.....hows about....

Sorry to keep babbling here, but the wife and kidz are outta the house...know what I mean, Vern?
How about, at the very end of the ride--you know that feeling?--right before creeping into the station, our train is quickly raised by a lift mechanism, and hyper-launched right back onto the course. Never ending...
A great ride to be on.
Unless your in line.

RollerCoaster Tycoon!
I would undertake this project, but Im slightly burnt out on RCT for the moment. doing every scenario like 3 times can get.... tedious. :)
I'm serious though, who wants it? I'll put the pair up at my site.

Bukweet say....: "OTAY! I likes CeePee. He my frend."
Following another thread from last week, kan we get some music on our new coaster? I'm thinkin', Alice Cooper: "Elected."
Make it a launch racer, and in the start, dust old Alice off and have him do a remake,
screaming out: "I WANNA BE ELECTED...EJECTED...
ELECTED...........EJECTED....."

Yes, but would Ralphy and the Green Party allow us to build our new coaster?
At least Hulk would be safe.
