The New Stratosphere Ride

http://www.projectxsky.com/

Like the other two rides, the speed is not the thrill, its the fact that your 1,100+ feet in the air. All I have to say is they'd better be checking those hinges :)

Oops, sorry, the ride itself is 866 feet high.

Still twice as high as the top thrill dragster tho, although obviously not comparable for records, I know :)

Oh man, that's crazy.

The computer graphic didn't show the High Roller. Are they keeping it?

In all honesty... that thing looks really lame.

It's nothing more than an over-sized see-saw. The only thrill will be for those in the front row overlooking that 800+ feet in the air, and even there... you go back & forth, back & forth? Doesn't sound quite as exciting as their other rides (ok, doesn't sound exciting at all).

"You know its a good ride when you come into the final break run wiping tears from your eyes"-me

Man oh man oh man! I dunno about this one....Man! I will be there in August and its projected opening is early fall, so I do not think I will even have to worry about making a decision.
The Sky Skater may not look like much, but even at just 10 or so feet off the ground, the ride is really unnerving. I don't think that animation really does a good job at showing how fast that thing starts to move. The ride on the Stratosphere is the larger Xtreme version, so it's going to be going even faster.

After having ridden the original version, my first thoughts were immediately that a larger, high capacity version of this ride would be a blast.

Being terrified of heights, however, 900' may be a *bit* too much for me.

What do I Listen-To?

I have to agree with dawg byte. Sure, maybe hanging 800 feet above ground might be thirlling, but it seems like....let me put it this way, say your going sky diving and you go way up in the plane and stand at the door, then you dont jump and go back in the plane and land. Its like the first part of a thrill without finishing it

Walmart: the most fun you can have with your clothes on!

My only problem with it, is that it'll open AFTER my trip to Vegas. I would love to hit it. Guess I'll HAVE to make a return visit at some point... ;)

Looks like a big freakin TEASE! I wanna drop off that tower!

I wanna coaster that launches OFF the tower and STRAIGHT down 1000 feet, with a spiral or two...hee hee. In my dreams. ;-)

Too bad the halfpipe thingy for the Tower didn't get approved a few years back.

;-)

I'd Rather Be Riding Roller Coasters

Why not just build a bungee jumping platform up there?

A day is a drop of water in the ocean of eternity. A week is seven drops.

I think that the ride looks thrilling because of it's height, but it could never stand with coasters.
