The last painted wood coaster?

According to RCDB, White Cyclone was built in 95, so I was just going off of that.
To answer my own question, according to RDCB, the newest coaster to be painted (not including re-painting jobs) would be the Teddy Bear at Stricker's Grove in 1996, then Twister II (SFEG) and Cannonball Run at Waterville USA both in 1995.

The two Blue Streaks (CP and Conneaut) are both light blue, aren't they? A 2001 web photo of the PKD Scooby Doo also appeard to be light blue instead of purple.

I thought Thunderhawk at Dorney had a hint of yellow in it, but it may depend on whether it is seen in sunlight or not.

If the initial monetary cost is not the main issue, would be more of a time cost of repainting woodies that has led to the rarity of new coasters being painted a non-natural color?

Regardless of the color, I'll enjoy the wood coasters more for their ride quality than anything else!

My memory from 1980 (and pics from the 1980's) show that Dorney's Thunderhawk was yellow back then.

My memory from 2001 (and more recent pics) show it as an off white / ivory color.

For what it is worth, Hersheypark's Comet was once painted / stained dark green (similar to Knoebels Phoenix) Somewhere around the house I have a pic taken decades ago by my grand parents that shows the green dogleg turn around. I believe it was this way up until the early 1970's. I think I remember it being a dark color when I was a little kid... though I could be wrong about this.

Kind of hard to take a post as objective if a park or coaster name is part of the "user name"

Yes, PKD’s Scooby Doo is light blue. Before that, it was dark green, and before that, it was bright green. And I’ve heard somewhere that it was white when it first opened, but it must have been painted bright green 3 years later at most, because my first memory of it was in ’78, and it was definitely bright green (same color as my beloved King Kobra at the time).

The "Scooby Doo" was yellow, then blue, then much to my dismay, purple. I saw a house painted that color 2 days ago. YUCK!

Oops, they have it wrong. The entrance marquee of the ride says 1994 on it. I just checked.

What about Raging Wolf Bobs? Wasn't that painted when SF acquired the park?

As the coasters get bigger so do the queue lines

Raging Wolf Bobs was painted white in 1990, only 2 years after its debut. I worked at the park in 1989 and when they sent my re-hire packet, they said the ride was being painted so that guests at Sea World were able to see it. GL seemed to be rather proud of the ride back then and wanted to market it.

SF re-painted the ride for the 2000 season. Personally, I think the ride looked best when it was natural wood... but what do I know?
