The Italian Job Stunt Track opens in 2005 at two Paramount parks

Paramount's Kings Island and Paramount Canada's Wonderland announced yesterday the addition of The Italian Job Stunt Track, a heavily themed launched coaster inspired by the car chases from the Paramount Pictures film.

Visit the announcement sites for PKI or PCW.

My only question (and it is a question, not a gripe by any means) is why does the track in the animation look Intamin? Is Premier Premiering a new type of track for this ride? Keith, are you allowed to say?:)

It's not a new type of track. They used the same thing on Buzzsaw Falls years ago.
Ah, thanks Jeff. I never saw any pix of Buzzsaw so I didn't know that.

I'm actually more excited about this ride more so than anything else. My year started off crappy park going wise, but is improving. I will go back to PKI next year to ride this, more than likely BeastBuzz(unless I don't have a job, my car breaks down, and I can't afford it again next year...).

PKI is one of the best parks I've been to, and the only record breakers it has aren't even my favorite rides in the park (though Beast and DZ are both good).

They know what they're doing, and thats why attendance is up...

Looks like fun. My only two concerns with it are:

1) Low capacity. Looks like only 12 people per train. That's not much. Did they mention a PPH number during the presentation?

2) Theming being kept up. It seems like the majority of the time with most any park, they always start off new rides with great theming. And then as the months and years pass, one by one effects break and are never repaired. I'd like parks to think about what is realistically possible for them to keep working before they build things. I hate seeing things fall into a state of disrepair.

I'm not sure as to exactly why they chose that track type, but I am assuming it is because it is cheaper and the other track with the backbone wasn't necessary since the stresses will be minimal compared with their other designs.. just my thought, I didn't really ask why and I guess in the end I didn't really care why :)

Okay, so I know it's going where the antique cars are. Has the park decided if they will relocate the antique cars? Also, I have also heard the Flyers are being moved. Has that been confirmed yet? Continueing.... does anyone know where the entrance will be located, you know, access from which part of the park....

Also, and finally, where are they putting Wonderlands at? I didn't see any significant land-clearing on Monday up there.

Any news about it? Special about PCW?
