The Coaster Kid
Roller coasters are more than just rides, they're a reason for living
There are no bad coasters, only better coasters!!
I'll bet that the average PCW visitor won't even know that there is a 2nd version of the ride at PKI.
Who ever said that this park had nothign to offer?
...er... probably noone... but it definately puts this park on calibur with the likes of Cedar Point, Great Adventure & few others. Too bad 'cause it's located in Canada... it gets overlooked a lot by 'buzzers & park enthusiasts (definately not Canadians... it's the only game in town).
I just wonder if this is going to be Wonderland's "signature" coaster from now on, or if that's still in the works. It doesn't look like this coaster is going to go all that high, which is one of the reasons it's going to be launched... twice.
I wonder if they're even going to have block-breaks on the ride. I'm sure the ride is short enough (<90 seconds) where it won't really matter anyway.
So if you don't want either....what do you want Mole? ;)
Kyle Says: Diamondback was a lot of fun! Made his first time at Kings Island worth it all!

More like, I hope they get this ride and not the Tomb Raider ride. I'm not feeling good today, so I have an excuse. ;)

PCW now has a mammoth 14 coasters... & the best flat ride collection in the world.Who ever said that this park had nothign to offer?

Err, I'd like disagree with that last statement based solely on that fact that PCW has nothing close to a signature ride that I feel is worth traveling from South Carolina to visit your park.. 14 coasters or not.
The same cannot be said for Cedar Point or SFGAdv which I've visited both twice in the last 3 years and 2 years, respectively.

.
Actually, the ride will have 3 launches, a top speed of 40mph, and 3 car trains (the animation may not be 100% accurate on certain details). The design team will be a conglomeration of Premier Rides, BMW & Paramounts D&E (Charlotte).
Unfortunately, the parks are not going to release the full spec sheet until Spring '05 (as weird as that seems).
...do you think it's going to be a coaster in the traditional sense? I'm not complaining... but it sounds a little like it's just a really fast & furious antique car ride... er... made to look like Mini Coopers.
...maybe the rollercoaster in the traditional sense now-a-days is just a very vague line.
This ride will most likely be their signature attraction.
They might have 14 coasters, but not all of them are too exciting.
An SLC,Boomerang,Suspended which was really rought last time I rode, togo standup, 2 decent woodies(1 of which the park likes to remove hills to fit new water slides in), an enclosed mine train, an arrow corkscrew, 1 average mouse, 1 very crappy flying mouse, and some kiddy coasters.
None of those are much too look forward to. The park has decent flat rides, but I'd hardly suggest travelling far to ride them.
I would never put PCW in the same class as CP or SFGadv.
PCW has some great shows, including the high-dive off of Victoria Falls, great theming/landscaping, and of course, the wide range of flats.
There's so much to do there. You don't have to have great A++ coasters to put yourself in the same class as Cedar Point or Great Adventure... just a quality line-up of things to see & do & walk away satisfied.
BTW: Carnage: I must disagree on Vortex, the Arrow Suspended... one of the best suspended's out there. I was there in '03 & it ran just as good as any Arrow has.
They have a lot of coasters, but nothing special. This new coaster might change that. Quantity isnt always quality and Wonderland proves that.
It is a great flat ride park, a very medicore coaster park.
Although I still would like to see PCW get something original. Something that another park doesn't have.
As it stands now most people from the south would have to pass the Ohio parks to get to PCW. So anything you can get at PCW you can get farther south, but with some better rides tossed in.
I've been pretty critical of PCW over the last few years. And in fact I rarely go anymore. But with this ride I'm giving them some respect back.
