The Hammerhead Stall?

Why did Fantasy Island cancel their H.S? I thought that it was finally being build this year. Anyone know
OK. Sit back and relax. This is the 4th different topic you've started on old stuff. Do a search and look it up. Refer to my post in your plug and play woodies question on how to do a search.

The only difference between stupidity and genius is genius has limitations.

Well. just to check I did the search and read about the first ten topics. Although they provided some great background information about the HHS, not a single one answered the question posed in this post. Some had started to hint that the project may be delayed or canceled, but no explanations were offered. At that point he can resurect the old post and we all can read through 20 or so posts we read two to ten months ago or he can start a new topic. I have yet to see Jeff's opinion on his desired protocol in such a case, and I clearly would respect any decision he would make. However, until it is clear I don't think we should jump on people just because their topic in some way related to an old topic. Sometimes the previous thread has just become too old and the best way to get an answer to the question is to start a fresh topic.
Besides, FSĀ“decision to NOT buy theHHS is relatively fresh.

It was rumoured that Vekoma wanted to give away the HHS for small money, as a "bonus" for buying ODYSSEY, and to finally get it on the market.

Vekoma knew at this point that the HHS was a dead concept. The cable mechanism prooved to be unreliable. The capacity is small and the ride itself was not all that spectacular due to the low speeds at which the cars had to traverse the top of the towers.

It certainly didnt help the image of the HHS when Intamin took the idea, reversed it and built the HALF PIPE in Finland. It works with lim (and it actually WORKS), looks way better and has a slightly better throughput.

The final deathblow came when ODYSSEY prooved to be just another ambitious Vekoma desaster on wheels. Which park would willingly pay for getting a highly complicated ride that has an aura of trouble writen all over it?

Currently, all the bugs have been worked out of the HHS, and it works like a charm. Fantasy Island will not consider purchase of the HHS before their Odyssey works properly. Perhaps we will see the HHS at Fantasy Island in 2004. Just keep your fingers crossed!
