I went on vacation to Lake George and we stopped at the Great Escape Monday to try to add the 3 coasters I need there out of five (needed Boomerang, Nightmare, Comet).
First of all I heard from the ticket seller guy that NIGHTMARE IS CLOSED FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON. I don't know why but it is. Expansion have to do with it?
Comet was closed for the time being too, so this basically ruined my base plan. We did Boomerang, and then went to Steamin Demon for two laps. We then went to Comet and found out it would open at 12:30. We did Alpine Bobsled, and then had lunch at Subway. We then headed over to Comet, and it was finally open.
Comet-10/10- This thing is rough the whole way through. I'd have to say it either beats or ties Boulderdash for my favorite woodie. We marathoned this ride 11 times in the whole day.
In between the Comet marathons we did Boomerang once more, Steamin Demon twice more, Bobsled once and the log flume once.
Good trip for the day, but Nightmare's closing bummed me out. Comet was great, and I really hope this park gets some expansion. If not, I might not come back for another visit.
