The end of an era... Jeff Siebert to leave PKI.

best part of the camp though had to be the fire Scott and I built Saturday night. I had the best time at that event and Jeff was there to wake us up and make sure we behaved ourselves at night. Jeff made that event one of the most memorable for me.

Best of luck to Jeff down in Texas, he will be missed at Kings Island *** Edited 11/22/2005 5:17:31 PM UTC by coaster kevin***

Just another reason for me to eventually schedule that Schlitterbhan Trifecta trip in Tejas.
My first time meeting Jeff was actually at Cedar Point. Me and two friends were there in 04 for the Golden Ticket Awards. I had always heard about this amazing PR guy from PKI but had never met him. All of a sudden some guy walks by, and looks at us smiling and say "Hi how are you doing?" as he walked by. All three of us wonder who this guy is. About two minutes later he comes up and introduces himself to us. I was very surprised that a representative from PKI would just come up and talk to three 18 year olds at a industry event. All of a sudden I realized this was the man I had heard about, and wow was everyone right. We talked to him for a while and watched the Golden Tickets with him. I have never seen anyone who worked for a park; show such a love for coasters, and amusement parks. Whenever a place that he liked was nominated Jeff would cheer. I remember that when Exterminator was read for being nominated for best dark coaster, Jeff looked over at us and said "I love that park". I was so impressed that day that I went to Beast birthday party later that year just to see Jeff.
We drove al threw the night to arrive at PKI at 7 in the morning the day of the event, and Jeff was there to greet us, with a huge smile. I had never been to PKI before and whenever I ran into Jeff that day he would ask me what I had done, how I liked it, then give me some tip for what else we should do that day. I'll never forget when he forced us to ride in the backseat of the Beast for our first ride, because he said it was mandatory.
I have seen him once or twice since then at different events, and he still has that same enthusiasm and excitement, and he is probably one of the nicest people I have ever met. I will also never forget the video they made for ACE with the parody of the Brady Brunch, I’m glad he gave it out as a DVD :)

Good luck to Jeff. I'm sure he'll be just as enthusiastic in his new position as he was with PKI.

He always went way out of his way to make the PKI experience a good one for guests. During the last Beastbuzz, a few of us got treated to a personal tour of Tomb Raider, including the dark access tunnels. So cool and unexpected.

My most vivid memory, though, will be his performance as Alice of the Brady Bunch. I don't think I'll ever lose that image!!

He specifically told me Galveston. Which leads me to believe that the new postion will be located at and focused primarily on the new park. I'll double check with him tonight at PKI.

Galveston is like 30 minutes away from Houston. I bet he will spend a lot of time in H town. That's all I meant. OOHPS I just realized you were not talking about my post... *** Edited 11/23/2005 12:58:18 AM UTC by Markieb***

Good Luck Jeff... You will be missed...

It's been great getting to know you over the past 5 years. As mentioned earlier, you've done so much for PKI, (man, that park has done a total 180 in the promotions and marketing), and you've done so much also for enthusiasts groups...Beastbuzz has rocked from the beginning! It's gets better every year!

Schlitterbahn...you guys are getting a really great guy! And he will do wonders for you, (if that's possible at Schlitterbahn!). If anything, he'll be a great addition to keeping you on top in the waterpark world.

Best to you Jeff, you WILL be missed!

Well, the PKI skits will never be the same...

From the National Geographic host "Interactive dark ride advennnnnnntuuuuuure!" to (as noted by CPLady) Alice, Jeff always had a twisted (in a very good way) sense of humor.

Best of luck, Jeff in your new Advennnnnnntuuuuuure!

Boy if this isn't bummer news!! :(

Any of my PKI event experiences were always made better thanks to Jeff. He had a love and knowledge of PKI (and other parks and coasters) and always treated all the guests with respect :)

I will never forget his awesome sense of humor! At Beast Bash this season we spent more time laughing than anything else!

Best of luck Jeff! I will miss you TONS!!!

The first time I met Jeff was at a WNYCC event at Americana in '97. I don't recall his job title at the park but he was overseeing the event that day. I talked to him about bringing GOCC down there for a future event which he was extremely enthusiastic about. I found out later he belonged to ACE and was an enthusiast himself (whjich was obvious from our conversation anyways). Then later that year he was at Knoebels for the PPP where we talked briefly again. When I finally was able to hold the GOCC event at Americana in July of 99, he wasn't with the park anymore.

Then all of the sudden in 2000 when PKI fired Barb Colnar for her blatant camera hogging techniques and such, Jeff appeared and took over in Marketing at the park. He was always good to us and treated enthusiasts to many perks not normally associated with standard corporate park practices. Barbera almost created a rift between the park and enthusiasts and Jeff stepped in and through his enthusiasm and kind hearted, generous ways was able to mend the situation almost immediately.

To that I will say that Jeff is a great guy and through his enthusiasm he was able to help the park as well as all of us enjoy PKI on a level not many people get to enjoy (unless he's around). So I will miss Jeff at PKI, but I also know that he left a strong bond between the park and enthusiasts. That is the sign of a truely great marketing person. Good luck in Texas Jeff.

Jeff sure seemed to enjoy himself yesterday at Coaster Christmas (ACE Event) at SDC. Nothing like riding coasters in December with crisp air hitting you in the face. The ERT on PowderKeg was wonderful!
I'm sorry to never have met him, but I've certainly heard a lot of wonderful stories both in this thread and from my other friends in Coaster-dom. I have no doubt he will do wonders at Schlitterbahn and I am now even more motivated to go to those wonderful Texas water parks.

But I just can't resist... "I heard he once opened PKI during a Blizzard with NO POWER, ran ALL the rides by himself by hauling the cars up the lifts BY HAND."

"Here's to Bill Bras... er I mean Hear's to Jeff Siebert!"

Jeff Siebert? I don't know how he made it seeing his last day at PKI was Fri the 2nd. I know Jeff Mast was there... could there be confusion?

Well the event was on the 3rd, not the 2nd..

Where you lucky enough to see Jeff's impersonation of Barb at the SoB Media Day? Well, just imagine Jeffery staring at you for 5-10 minutes without blinking. The best part is that during the IJ:ST Media Day, he spotted me from a distance and made this face just before giving an interview. I just about died laughing.

"Sometimes I just kill myself!" - The Joker

Jeffrey Siebert wasn't at Coaster Christmas, however that other Jeffrey with the similar name was.

I already get e-mails now and then intended for him. Now that he is moving to Texas, I expect the confusion will only get worse.

LOL

I figured it was another case of Siebert/Seifert confusion.

I was really puzzled because on the 3rd, Jeff was at a Christmas party hosted by a mutual friend of ours. I had no idea how he could have been two places at once. I mean, he's a clever man... but not THAT clever! ;-)

Well Jeffrey it is your own fault for having a similair last name... ;)

Did you at least have fun at the event?

I had a great time at the event. Sorry I didn't introduce myself. I would like to meet more CBers, but I'm not real good at walking up to strangers and starting a conversation.
Well you should have just broken out of that shell and said hello. Did you at least recognize me or go "hey he looks like that one guy" ;) I didn't get a chance to talk to your table as you were all in the back corner and sort of seemed to be content only talking to each other. Did you get a chance to talk with Nick? He is such a great guy and a much better PR person then some of the ones in the past (I won't name names, but we all know who I am talking about).
