The Disney Purchasing Six Flags Rumor

I know the last topic was closed because of it being a silly rumor, but apparently he wasn't the only one who fell for it. According to the Dow Jones Business News, Six Flags stock rose 6.8% yesterday as a result of a rumor that Six Flags was going to be purchased by Disney. The article said a spokesman that was close to the company said the rumor was just that, a rumor. Wasn't trying to re-open a closed topic with this, but was just pointing it out because it was interesting.

I really dont believe Disney would buy Six Flags. It just doesnt seem right.

I have yet to see a sig. that actually follows the rule: tell something about yourself. In fact, this one doesn't even do that.

Besides, what would become of the rides? Daisy Duck: Ultimate Flight? ;)

Roller coasters and more at EBeth's Realm!

This is almost as true as the rumor that Wal-Mart will one-day buy the government.

I am confident that they will not buy the government, but I think that they might be a Major National Bank (The Wal-Mart Bank!), perhaps have their own TV channel (The Wal-Mart Channel!) and even get into the restaurant business (The Wal-Mart Diner!)

Have you been in a store recently. They already have the wal-mart channel.
Don't be so sure.

They'll buy the Government when it gets in the way of there Takeover Plans! ;)

They also already have a Wal-Mart Diner-techincally it's called a Radio Grill.

Thunderhead comes to Dollywood in 2004!

A threadjacking in progress & this time the usual suspects (we all know who they are don't we?) are nowhere to be found.

Chris,Mamoosh & Gator are missiing out on a great oppurtunity here, where are they when we really need them to liven things up around here?

Wait a minute I know where they are, they're all busy having a good time at their local parks while the rest of us are busy slaving away at our keyboards,

My local parks? In the summer heat? With the crowds? Hell no! I go in the off season [they're open year 'round here].

Now tell me Cedar Point is running out of space.

They have the Wal-Mart channel and Wal Mart Radio Grill.

OK so the only thing they don't have yet is the Bank of Wal Mart!...... my point exactly. The bank can't be too far away.

EDIT : As a matter of fact why don't they buy Six Flags?

I could see it now, Happy Faces all over the park and all the all prices are lowered and park attendance is up! Pay scales are lowered slightly but everyone is still happy because they have a future with America's largest Theme / Park Chain and Retailer!

Actually, I wasn't really making this post to try and say this rumor had any truth to it, I was posting it to show that Six Flags finally found a way to boost their stock ;)

Ya know Hardrider might be onto something. Walmart cold buy the dying Six Flags. I mean they own the Blues, Avalanche, and Nuggets. so we know they are in the entertainment business. why not a few parks. They could be like busch gardens but at half the quality.;)

Army Rangers lead the way

Interesting story.

Does the stockmarket always fluctuate share prices off the whim of a rumor? Very wierd. Dont know much about the stockmarket so I dont know how they operate.

And why would they rise because Disney supposedly had interest? Their parks arent exactly kicking butt right now. It seems the whole amusement park industry is hurting a least a little bit.

Chitown: Who owns shares from the company he works for but that is it.

Oh yeah, how many shares of SF stock does Bill Gates own again?

I submitted this as news earlier this afternoon.

I know I'm really getting jazzed up about the thought of Mickey Mouse: Rodent of Steel.

It doesn't stop there, you'd have Daffy against Donald, Foghorn Leghorn against Winnie the Pooh, and Yosemite Sam could beat on Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs instead of that stupid dragon that sneezes on him all the time!!

When I say wooh...I mean wooh.

Dragons is soooo stupid!!!!!
