Pegasus - A unique layout for a jr. woodie, what's not to appreciate about that. One or two good moments of air, otherwise nothing special.
Zeus - Decent out and back layout. I prefer it over Hoosier Hurricane and Blue Streak but still think Screachin Eagle is tops as far as mid sized out and backs go. Some very uncomfartable shuffling over the bunny hop following the initial drop.
Cyclops - First two drops are good, but THE DROP is quite possibly the single best moment of airtime I've ever had. Hands down better than Raven's '5th drop' IMO. Nothing like getting thrown out of your seat and then slammed to the side whilst airborne. Got to ride with Mike from TGG, great guy.
Hades - I thought it was a pretty good coaster. Not in my top 5, but probably sneaks into my top 10. The pre-lift sequence is the best I've ridden and it has abundant airtime. The tunnel isn't as violent as I had expected, which is a good thing IMO. First time through was both hands down, firmly grasping the handles. After that it was hands up all the time. The speed is terrific and the complete darkness is dissorientating. Too slow over the turn around hill but I didn't mind the speed over the hill next to the lift, I still got great airtime down that hill. The ending isn't spectacular, but I feel it's well paced. Definately a good showing by the Gravity Group. They look like they want to push the envelope and I hope they get more chances to show us some of the crazy ideas lurking in their sick (in the good sense) minds.
I don't understand why they don't have a two train operation on Hades. Everything else was a walk-on, but Hades got some pretty decent sized lines the day I was there. With it's long ride cycle another train wouldn't hurt.
My final though on Hades concerns the drop from the brakes into the station and the drop out of the station. Wouldn't that drop out of the station be killer if they ever decided to do a 2 cycle run on Hades. They could stop the train on the brake run like normal but then let it go straight through the station. That would create some crazy airtime on the drop out of the station. Just something that crossed my mind while looking at the drop from the brakes into the station. Maybe...
Avalanche - Holy poop!! This just might be my favorite woodie. Got into the Dells at about 7:30 and was wondering if I'd be able to get any rides in. Only got somewhere over 40 rides that night, and that was with taking breaks and leaving to find a hotel for the night. Not a dull moment on the ride and airtime on every hill. Bye bye Cornball, Screachin' Eagle and Raven, I think I've found what I've been looking for. If this is what S&S can do, I want more!
Is the Disco they were installing (at Mt. Olypus right?) the one from down the street? When I was there the one park with the disco and the Zig-Zag coaster was closed. Wouldn't be surprised if Mt. Olypus bought some of their rides. I so wanted to ride the Disco since it was the first one I've seen.

No, they don't even let you re-ride if there's no wait. They make you walk around.
They must have changed the rules, when my spouse and I went last year, we were pretty much the only ones in the park (maybe 20 people total) and we got multiple rides on every coaster until we we had had enough.
We rode Cyclops at least 10-12 times in a row without even getting up, the only time we got up was to change seats and that was on every coaster there.
Now I have to get back to ride Hades.
Skol Vikings
