The Deja Vu Disappointment Thread

Question: Can I get a partial refund on my season pass if Deja Vu doesn't open this summer?

Those "2 new coasters" ads in Dominicks and on billboards on I-294 are looking mighty foolish at this point, given that we are a quarter of the way through the season and the ride doesn't seem to be even close to completion.

1 word: "NO!"

You think that the season pass price partially included the guarantee riding of a new coaster?

I think not.

The Great Escape... Soon to become Six Flags Adirondack Escape!!!
I am very dissapointed by the delays, but I've said it once, and I'll say it again, Vekoma had problems with the designs from the begining. Why do you think X is taking so long? Same reason that the "Super Invertigos" are taking so long to open. Problems with the designs.

ANd you must recall that Chicago had a lot of rain this spring. Some reps said it was taking so long because of inclement weather!

Let the bears pay the Bear Tax, I pay the Homer Tax.
I believe that the inclement weather argument is BS. Deja Vu shot up fairly quickly. And what about SFOG? Is poor weather to blame there, too? Theirs has been structurally complete for about two months now, but remains unopened. Also, V2 certainly shot up quickly in the rain.
I'm wondering why we're not seeing a station or deja vu entrance sign or anything. I went May 15th and June 8th and it does not appear that they have made jack squat in terms of progress.
Seriously, folks, SFGram may be getting a new coaster in 2002: Deja Vu.

First off, X is made by arrow, and I haven't heard of any problems with the coaster. It's actually rising at a good rate for that size of a coaster. Unless I'm missing something, I don't see what's wrong with X.

And for Deja Vu, I am mad. That's all I can say. It should have been open months ago, at just about all the 6 flags parks. But I don't know what they are doing, so it beats me what they're up to.

There is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people.
No you can't get a partial refund, and two as I've said before-Volcano the Blast Coaster didn't open until the middle of August at PKD. Relax, you'll be riding soon. If the coaster isn't open, there's probably a good reason and that reason is your safety.
Bull fan, recall this piece of literature:

"At various times during the season, some rides may be open only during peak hours Ð for example, noon to 8 p.m. Such variations will be posted at the ride entrance. Additionally, due to maintenance and other circumstances, certain rides and attractions (including new rides) may not be open to the public."

This information was known to you prior to buying your season pass. Regarding lack of progress, I suggest you look again. You must learn that simply because all of a ride's track is in place and its structural completeness doesn't mean it can open. There are those "little" details such as electricity, cable lift mechanisms, and other items crucial to a ride's operation.

And I honestly think it is ridiculous to say anything about 2002. Seriously, I don't even want to respond to you regarding that other than that it is way too early to give up on this ride.

Also, to Coaster Xtreme, X is a product of Arrow, not Vekoma. Perhaps you were thinking of X-Flight at SFWoA, which is a Vekoma.

"Happy Everything"
Big deal. Rejoice in V² now that it's up. I really wouldn't mind getting a new coaster in 2001, 02, and 03. You've just got to have a little patience.

I guess that you are getting a new roller coaster makes you turn into spoiled brats.

When its ready, and safe, it will open.

Until then, enjoy the rest of the park.
Plus you can't blame a park for manufacture default and/or difficulties. I think it is safe to say that you should change the name of the thread to vekoma disappointment thread. Remember vekoma has had lots of problems before and this is just another.

Gosh people can't you take a joke. Just laugh and get on with life.
How can you be disappointed when you havn't rode it yet?!

Oh man, that new coaster at my homepark six flags darien lake way over on the east side is still not open!!! OH WAIT! my bust! we didn't get anything new this year besides a christmas themed gift shop. How foolish of me!

Don't get mad at me for saying this, but its only a boomerang!
I wrote Vekoma and here is what they said...

"Thank you for your e-mail.

We would like to inform you that in your e-mail you are referring to an
incident during testing.
The Giant Inverted Boomerang ("GIB") rides are all to open in
June/July. As
the GIB is a prototype based on our technical experience with the
Invertigo, Boomerang and Hammerhead Stall we are conducting a 3 to 4
weeks
test and commissioning period.

Kind regards!! "

So maybe Vekoma knows what they are doing? :)
Yeah..Ok..Sure....

Mindbender...Can you hear the Riddler chuckling?
Maybe if the parks and manufacturers didn't have the excess of rumor-hungry, internet coaster types, they wouldn't have to wait to stick something new up. Isn't the industry portrayed by some of the TV specials as a hush, hush, latest technology wins the bucks kind of thing? I just want to ride DejaVu, the only dissappointment I have had from it is that when I first read about it, I thought the layout all wrong in my head. I thought it was to go back, then launch up a "lifthill", then into a drop, then inversions. As it stands, though, I was impressed I tell you with how that thing in Georgia looked. Pretty. *** This post was edited by p_c_r on 6/16/2001. ***
Over 2 weeks the Deja Vu of SFOG will open, the test rides of this coaster are a success. Over 3 - 4 weeks the other Deja Vu's will open. At SFMM Vekoma have started the last checks on the coaster and they will put the train on track next week (Monday or Tuesday). Vekoma have also started the last checks of Deja Vu at SFGam.
And you thought we had it bad waiting for batwing to open at SFA.
Yeah, I hear now at SFGAM its going for July, cause some problems, this is ridiculous. At least we have V2 now.
