The death of oceanview park movie.

I asked this question a few yaers back, with no luck.

Does anyone know where I can get a copy of "The death of oceanview park" movie? I belive it was made in 1977 or around that time. I have been looking for this movie all over the internet without any luck.

Any help/info would be greatly appriceated.

It was a made-for-TV movie from 1979 and was never actually released on VHS or DVD to my knowledge. You might catch it randomly on cable and I think I saw it on Lifetime a couple years ago. Unless you can find someone who recorded it or find it playing on TV, you probably won't be able see it.

Does it help you to know it really wasn't that great of a movie? I know you were probably just looking to see the park and coasters. The main coaster was demolished in Rollercoaster (1977) if you haven't seen that one.

It "took three days and required about 500 gallons of gasoline, three and a half cases of dynamite, a case of plastic explosives and a 60-ton Caterpillar tractor" to destroy the "Rocket" coaster.

Plus there's a few small (censored) pics of bunnies at OV on that page and a pic of the coaster in a ball of fire.

I happen to have a copy of that movie in good condition considering I taped it back in 1990 when it was played on TV. It shows some really good footage of the park, and then all hell breaks loose and shows good footage of the Rocket collapsing after the gas house next to the coaster explodes.

I will have to look for the tape though it is in storage.

I have a copy on tape that a good friend of mine taped for me, but I have no way to copy it for you at the current moment.

...and I have a copy that I made from john's copy but another generation would probably render it unwatchable.

If you need any Johnny Hates Jazz songs, though, he's the one to ask. ;)

Well, I guess I'll join the group who also has a copy of Death of Ocean View Park. In fact, I just watched it not too long ago. It's still in very good shape considering I taped it some 8-9 years ago. Unfortunately, I have no way to dupe it but I did recently import some footage into Premier when I was working on a small video project.
