I was just wondering if anyone has been on the Wonder Wheel at Coney Island. That's a ride that is also on my wish list. I want to ride it, mainly the rolling cars. I'll bet it must have been a wilder ride when it first opened. I wonder why they haven't made more of them. I know there is a similar ride at Disney's California Adventure. I think there is also a version of it over seas, but it would be nice if there were more of them in the US. I wonder if that is a patent thing.Other rides at Coney Island I would have liked to ride, is the parachute drop. Obviously the coasters. Thunderbolt looks like it may have been a pretty good one. Also the flying turns, and the gyro ride. Also the Steeple Chase and Virginia Reel. I have also heard that their fun houses, and haunted houses were really wild. Back when they cared more about what the ride does, then what the capacity is, and how cheap they can make it, so they can make mega bucks like today.
I didn't do it! I swear!!
I don't think Wonder Wheel could be any more or less wild, perhaps if you loaded more people into the car...? It's pretty thrilling, moreso than the DCA version. Parachute Drop, was an entirely different gig from the SF versions (GAdv, and SFoG and SFoT when they had them)...it was a pretty thrilling drop/landing.
