Now that they have a water line do you think Cedar Fair will put any Campgrounds or even a indoor waterpark in that area. Michigan's Adventure owns the land across the street from the park and rumor sites have talked about them getting something there who knows what they will do with the all new water line.
It is no secrete that the park hopes to build overnight accommodations. The GM has stated it more than once in the press during interviews. The park has also made the city aware that they intend to build an overnight campground. It was mentioned in an article in the Muskegon Chronicle in an article about a woman hoping to build her own campground and the city informed her that Michigan’s Adventure would be a competitor in the future. With the new water line this year, I would expect the campground to come in 08. A second gate will also probably be added so guests can enter the park from the campground, and the train would be expanded and used to transport campground guests to and from the park and the campground. While many people may have wanted a hotel, at this point I don’t see it happening before a campground. Cedar Fair has stated that if one was built it would include an indoor water park, but it would take time to see if the local economy could support one. Campgrounds on the other hand are already heavily proven to be successful in the area.
MIA wont be getting an indoor water park because Gold Rush indoor water park just opened up about 10 minutes away. I can see a camp ground across the steet though. But about 5 minutes away a new RV park is in the Blue Print stage, the ground is already broke and going to be ready for 2008. MIA should not be worrying about hotels but furture attractions.
Nobody, Moosh (well, unless Coasterkid tries to touch me or something), but seeing MiA topics all over the front page does kinda get boring after a while, don't ya think?
Fine I will go along with the topic. The concept has proven successful at CP, PKI and most recently WoF. I do not see why it would not also be successful for MiA to add a camper and cabin village to the property.
With that being said, I do not EVER see MiA as more than a regional park. People that go to MiA are within a day's drive of the park and will probably not spend the night anyway.
In other words, the concept is ok, it's just the ROI is probably not going to be there.
...Is this before or after Psychlone and Flashback are relocated there? Also, will the hotel have a nice view of the dueling B&M flyers that Cedar Fair planned for CP but are now MiAdv bound because of the ever-boosting attendance there?
Also, I heard about a mega-giga planned that will have 2 stations, one at MiAdv and one at CP, to connect the parks in a unique way and share the ever-increasing crowds at MiAdv with CP. This would allow guests to enjoy both parks. A set of check-points are going to be set up at mid course breaks along each direction so that you can either flash a season pass, pay separate admission for each park, or show a special hand-stamp you can purchase on your original admission. It will have 1 lauch and 1 lift each way, 6 tunnels each way, as well as several airtime hills and 3 zero G rolls (2 MA-CP, and only 1 CP-MA). *** Edited 1/23/2007 4:39:20 AM UTC by P18***
