Park Officials quotes-

Millennium Mania isn't a regular operational day. See the official site for details.

so all the rollercoasters will not be in operation?
Nope, just Magnum XL-200, Raptor, Mantis, Power Tower, and Millenni...er...Blue Streak.

I'd like to go the second friday of MM... I'm hoping Blue Streak won't be open. :)

They're substitution Blue Streak for Millennium Force (+ free Vertigo trips, + ride passes for MF), but no the Blue Streak is just fine - it just adds another ride for the special event, especially since some guests that would ride MF may not ride Vertigo (I probably wouldn't, but for free I might consider it), so it helps balance out.

I was hoping they would allow us an to ride the Jr. Gemini instead of Blue Streak! Aww, man...
Although I like the Blue Streak, I wish they would have opened the Gemini instead. Fun, fun, fun!
Oh well, as long as my favorite coaster (Magnum XL 200) is open and VertiGO is still a go (hah, go.. get it... ok, I will stop now.), I'll be one happy camper!

Seriously, they couldn't open any other coaster than Blue Streak?

You are the Weakest Link, Goodbye.
Problem is....to open Gemini....they would probably want both sides open....meaning extra crew.  I also believe it has to do with keeping people in certain areas of the park (hence Blue Streak)

Didn't you know? They changed Millennium Force into a small out and back wooden coaster. See, it is still blue!!!

At least they are opening something else. CP could have just as easily NOT opened another coaster in the absence of MF. Maybe they will change the name to "Blue Streak Mania."

"X" marks the spot in 2001!

Soggy has a good point, they didn't have to open anything else, but they did, and that's a good customer relations gambit. As for Gemini, it isn't only the crew, it's the size of the park itself -- they'll try to keep the crowds confined to the front of the park and the portion of the midway down to Magnum and Challenge Park. To open the Gemini, you'd have to open that whole stretch, which would mean a lot more work and more staffing to boot.

Definitely a staffing issue.  Remember all parks are in business for one reason really - to make money.  They generally don't make money on enthusiast events (there may be a few exceptions, but parks generally require a lot of guests just to break even - costs are high even when not operating at all).  CF shows us, at their flagship park no less, that when they're hosting events they want their guests to leave happy, and come back often  Well, we do and we WILL.  Haven't been to a MM event yet, but my visits to CP (and Knott's, soon to add Dorney), I always felt like a guest.  No problem recommending them to my non-enthusiast friends - which is precisely why parks care what we think.  I know I do my fair share of advertising for my local parks (of course, with IOA, BGT and Wild Adventures, it's my pleasure).  Blue Streak is great, and the other perks just PROVE that CF cares what enthusiasts think...

rollergator - intent on improving the "guest experience" - coming soon to a park near you
Also, opening Gemini would be pretty pointless.  Gemini is a capacity monster that you can get multiple rides on even on a BUSY day.  Running it during MM would be overkill.  Blue Streak is a better choice -- it's fun, right by Raptor (less midway staffing needed), and is easy to get enough staff for.

If the park breaks even, it is still not a bad deal.  The employees getting paid is in that part of "breaking even".  So there may not be profit, there is individual profit being paid to the employees.
