THE BIG DEBATE!!!

Well here's my deal.  I am stuck with this crapy computer, yet there is this amazing game.  I have a 400mhz AMD K6-2 with 220 megs ram (ok that's not so bad ;-)  But the problem lies in my vid card.  I have Voodoo 3 3000 and I don't get jack for frame rate.  Sometimes it will get as low as 2 fps.  And that is running the lowest graphics for the game.  Now is there something wrong with the vid card, like some settings I can tweak.  Or is my computer just crap??? Please give me some pointers on tweaks if you got-em.

Try updating the drivers for your video card.  While it may not necessarily give you any better performance, there is a good chance that it will.

yeah, I have the most recent driver.  The drivers for Voodoo are so hard to find now that 3dfx has gone out of business.

Well, K6-2s are not the best gaming processor. But rather than replacing it, do something easier. Take your Voodoo 3, smash it, and replace it with a GeForce 2 if you can afford to. Those are only about 100 bucks. It sounds like the rest of your system should work with the game. I have a Voodoo 5, and hate it. Nope, not because it's 3DFX, not because it's slow, but because it's accually my dad's, and this is his computer. If I had the money, I would destroy it (the Voodoo) and replace it with a GeForce.

I recommend a GeForce2 MX 400.  They are cheap and fast.

Voodoo may be dead, but other people are writing their own drivers for the cards - and some of these work on XP.

Do you know a site where I can find the newest driver for Voodoo 3?

What are you guys talking about? I have a 300MHz with a VooDoo3 video card, and it works perfectly for me. I also have 160 Megs of RAM...is that your's aren't working very well? You don't have a lot of RAM?
