The best days to go to a park.

I was just wondering what were the most un-crowded days to visit a park during Mon-Sun.

I think that Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday are the least busiest days.

Middle of the week! Wednesday! Kids are at school. Just a great time to head there for a great time! :)

That's true, but some of the big parks can still be busy, even on a Tuesday. You have to factor in the month you visit.

Last year I visited CP on a Tuesday in August. Guess what, it was packed. The wait time for MF was still 2 hours in the afternoon.

July and August are the busiest months with all the kids out of school. September they go back to school, but the parks only run on the weekends.

The best time of the year to visit a park is in May and June when they first open. Problem here is that the new ride is broken or only running 1 train or not finished yet.

So it becomes a game of trying to visit the park when noone is there yet all rides are running.

Which is why we get so jealous when we hear of people hitting CP and getting walkons all day. Which is why I wish CP would announce their new rides for next year and start building them now so they're ready for the May opening, all parks for that matter, everyone is late this year.

I have the best luck with early spring and late summer/fall. Kids are still in school and parks a pretty much dead on just about any weekday. Just forget about seeing shows, most aren't operating at the beginning and end of the season. Examples: Early September at Geauga Lake last year, multiple rerides on Villian, often with nobody on the train but my group. Downside - several coasters not operating - Big Dipper, Double Loop, Raging Wolf Bobs. Cedar Point, May 7. All major rides operating, all major rides walk-on to a 5-7 minute wait. Downsides - no shows and Gemini wasn't racing.
