THE BEST day at CP! 5/27/06

This is the 6th year in a row 8 of us have gone to an amusement park on Memorial Day weekend. We either visited Cedar Point, SFGAm, or PKI. (we live in the Indianapolis area.) I believe, this was by far THE BEST trip yet!

We left on Friday at 6:30p.m. We managed to arrive at Breakers Express at around 12:30a.m. This was 30 minutes later than what I predicted. I thought we did pretty good! I couldn’t believe how many cops there were once we got to Ohio!

By the time all of us got to the park on Saturday morning, it was 9:30a.m. Here are the order of rides we went on (as best as I can remember)

Raptor
MaXair
Blue Streak
Corkscrew
Power Tower
Magnum (two times)
Gemini

After we went on Gemini it was about 11:30a.m. and we were ready for lunch. So we took a break. While we were eating, a gal that worked there approached us and asked us how our day was going. We told her it was fantastic and she was shocked at how many rides we had been on at that point. I thought that was nice of her to take the time out to see if we were having a good time. It’s the first for me!

Troika (only because we were waiting for those that didn’t ride WT to get off the ferris wheel)

By the time we got off TTD it was about 5:30p.m. So we headed to TGI Friday’s at the Breakers Hotel and had dinner. After dinner we went on…

We were going to ride MF again but the line was too long. We were waiting in line for Skyhawk when it broke down. As soon as we got out of line, it started back up again…just my luck! Besides, we liked MaXair MUCH better than Skyhawk. MA had more of a punch to it the second time around. It seemed like the ride ops made it last longer and go higher! It was AWESOME!!

Next trip…Wisconsin Dells! There will only be 4 of us and we will be going in 3 weeks!

Oh! I almost forgot! We saw the new track for the new coaster for 2007. AND we saw the construction site for this new coaster. Quite a bit of land they have for this ride! I can’t wait to find out what it’s going to be!

Sounds like a busy and fun trip-- you got in a ton of rides. Was it because crowds were light, or you were just able to hit the lines at the right time?

It was probably a little bit of both. I actually thought it was going to be a lot worse because weather.com was calling for nice weather for that Saturday all that week!
