The best Corkscrew

They all have the same name, but they are not identical.whats everyone's favorite Corkscrew?

I consider it a classic coaster.Do you?
Actually, with the exception of CP'S they are all basically identical, except the few Vekoma models floating around.

But, all the Arrow's are the same.

CP's Corkscrew IS an Arrow, it just has the name "Corkscrew" also. Valleyfair's Corkscrew is "not the standard" and made by Arrow as well.

"X" marks the spot in 2001!
Valleyfair's is the only corkscrew I've been on, and I love how this thing handles the corkscrew inversion. I think the loop(s) on the Dragon at Adventureland is better.

However out of the sit down loopers I've been on (Dragon, Corkscrew, and Ninja) I like VF's corkscrew the best.

To me the first triple looping coaster is the best Cedar Point Corkscrew. Anyone ever ride the one at Bob-Lo Island?

Number 1 And Only Cedar Point
I've been on both the Geauga Lake corkscrew and the Busch Gardens Tampa corkscrew named "Python". Great coasters, but just don't compare to the coasters of today.

...But that's just my opinion. Unless it's also someone else's.
I've been on the one that was at boblo,it was nothing special.i have a tie for my favorite corkscrew ride,it is between corkscrew at cedar point and vortex at kings island.
Demon at SFGAm.

Get wrapped in the coils of Viper at SFGAm.
I second it
The original corkscrew is in Idaho (Silverwood), and though I can't say enough about how great their woodies are, (One is like a small ST w/ a helix, the other is a twister with great head chopper tunnels), the corkscrew is easily the roughest coaster I've ever ridden, and I've been on Herc at Dorney... It really is that bad.

I'm 2 for 2 so far!!!
Does anyone consider Viper at SFMM a "corkscrew" or are we just doing the simple, loop and double corkscrew stuff? If that's the case, then CP's is the best in my opinion because of the airtime off the second hill. But, Viper and Demon are great rides for being in the "corkscrew" classification.

There's nothing like a woodie... *** This post was edited by Woody on 1/15/2001. ***
yeah, that added bunny hop on the Corkscrew does it all for me!!! I love that ride! It doesn't get enough credit.

I think that Shockwave at SFGAM is one of my favorite coasters. I have always liked it. It will always be special to me in that I rode the ride more than anyone in the world in 1996. (Ride Operator) This was prior to all the recent complaining began about the ride.

I also love Demon at SFGAM, the first drop is great.

I also think CP's Corkscrew is the best because of the bunny hop. Ride this thing in the back and the effect of being pulled over the first hill is amazing. Not to mention, the location of the double corkscrew over the midway gives the ride an extra special touch. If we are including Arrow's larger loopers in this discussion, I would have to go with Vortex at PKI. No where else have I gone through a corkscrew element in which I actually felt like I was going to fall out of the train...Awesome!
