The beast is one of the best roller coasters i have ever rode. I like it because of how rough it is. because of how bumpy it is i hit my sunglasses on the side of the train and busted them. My coustin also broke open his lip while riding. But when he got off he said he loved it and wanted to do it again.
Any coasterbuzzers got storys about the beast?
None of the Beast since I didn't ride it yet :( But I lost hats on Hercules and the sooperdooperlooper. I almost lost a camera on the Skyliner at Lakemontpark No I wasn't taking pictures on that trip around it was in my pocket. Luckily I realized it before they sent the train. Not to mention about $20 in change I lost on the zipper and other spin and hurl rides.

I can't wait to ride Twister at Knoebles 4/29/00
My season has just begun!
the first time i rode was when i was 9. my head didn't go out of the car (the top of my head was even with the top of the car). i remember my head hitting the sides of the car. what a headache!!! personally, i don't think the beast is so great. the main reason i like it is for its length. the first hill isn't very good in my opinion. it is very small. even when i was 9. i remeber our great on-ride photo though that first time i rode. my dad and i sat in front of my older brother and his friend. my dad waved, i put my hand over my mouth acting like i was barfing, and my bro and his friends did one of the pull the shirt over the head things. you have to see it to laugh. if i only had a scanner................

I rode the Beast last year, but my story is from 20 years ago. My wife and I were riding in the front car. As soon as we went over the top of the first hill and started down, my wife's front closure bra became unfastened. For the rest of the trip she had a difficult time keeping "the girls" from being exposed. Only last year has she ridden on a coaster again....Apollo's Chariot at BGW. She loved it and even tried front car again.
hahaha!!! i bet you were laughin the whole time too weren't ya?! did you buy the onride photo?

They didn't do on-ride photos 20 years ago...
I can honestly say that my only trauma on the ride was to my left kidney. That'll teach me to have my hands up entering a turn!

You bet I was laughing :) :) :) could hardly hold on. At least my wife can still joke about it today. Better yet, she never complains when my daughter and I head out to the park. I am not planning any trips to PKI in the near future though. Would go on June 3rd with Ultimate Rollercoaster, but since I will be at Coastermania untill 1:00AM on June 2nd at CP....Don't know if my body can stay up that many hours :) or stay awake to drive.
I broke the frame on my glasses last summer.
Actually, they did do on-ride photos twenty years ago, but the old-fashioned way. How many here have seen _Rollercoaster_? There's a scene where Harry Calder (George Segal) is riding Rebel Yell at PKD. When he gets off the ride, an attendant at a photo stand shows him an on-ride. The camera used looked like a Polaroid with a huge zoom lens. Simple and effective. Of course, this could have been movie magic at it's best.

Up until fairly recently, the log flume at SFGAdv had a similar camera set up. They've since changed it to the electronic version.
I lost a dental retainer (yes, came from my mouth) when I was 12 or so. Came out on the top of the hill that starts after the first tunnel.
Needless to say, Mom wasn't very happy about it...
