I would like to hear some people's view's about The beast when it was first opened. I visited the park 2 months ago and the ride was unbraked as soon as it got dark. I wish I could live near the park (I live in the UK) as I would ride it every weekend during the season. There is no way you can try and compare The Beast to Boulderdash as they are 2 different wooden coasters. One is built for speed and the other is built for airtime.
I don't know much about the Beast from 79 other than it had 4 bench cars. I rode the Beast for the first time this year.

I rode The Beast for the first time in 1984, don't know if I can honestly remember that much, except my friend Tom, got the hiccups after both rides, after 30 minutes between rides.
I also rode for the first time in '84. I was only 12, and not yet an enthusiast, but I still loved coasters. I loved it, fast, fast, fast.
It was not until 1998, however, did I realize just how great it really is. I had been on other taller, faster, loopier, steel coasters and The Beast had fallen off my personal "top 10" list. One ride in 1998, (after about 6 years without having ridden) rocketed The Beast back to my #1 favorite coaster. I have since become an enthusiast, and The Beast sits securely in my top 5, and there it will most likely stay for a long time.

Gotta ride 'em all!
My first ride was in '83, I was 13 and it was the first really big woodie I had ever riden. The most I remember was how fast it was and how much of a blast it was to ride it at night. Everybody hootin' and hollerin'. It was intense.

Thank you riding America's Roller Coast
Cobra roll, I have a question. I doubt this was you, but did you wait for the yellow rope to drop in the morning to go to The Beast? And if so, did you talk to a short teen in a Millennium Force shirt while you waited?
