The answer toTR:TR?!?!?!?!?!

Okay ze genius is speaking, so listen up.Look on your copy of Ace News. Now on page 11, Maurer-Sohne debut a new type of coaster car. Remind you of anything? This is the scenery which was used in Tomb Raider the movie.Cool. But hey i could be wrong(and always am, ask rllrcstrdude187 or swimdej)

I don't get the magizine but what does this answer?

Same here Beast_rocks, I don't get the magazine either but what would this prove. I mean, is it a top spin type vehicle or what? Of course, I guess those who know don't tell and those who don't shouldn't ask. ;)

It opens up in a week just wait till then.

Tomb Raider is NOT a coaster. How many times does that need to be said before it sinks in??

2002 - the year of IB's LoCoSuMo!!

Its a heavily themed totally emersive dark ride adventure!

yes. but this also could be just like spiderman at IOA.
Don't bet on it Bilelele. The TR:TR building is about 1/4 the size of Spidey's.

Bilelele, the coaster car that I am looking at in ACE news from Mauhrer Sohne, or however you spell it, is a spinning compact COASTER car. That is in no way related to the Spiderman technology. You want a new Spiderman adventure? Wait for the kick*****movie on May 3rd, otherwise, I doubt any park is ready to fork over $100+ million for it.

Yes he definitely could be wrong.

Actually looking at the picture in the magazine it definitely is the tombraider theming. For those who don't get the magazine the picture is of a spinning car with 2 seats on opposite sides (totalling 4). The subtitle says "A themed spinning-coaster car from Maurer-Söhne."

If anybody would like to see the picture I've scanned it and might be able to send it to you by email. Just instant message me (RllrCstrDude187) or email me ( mbc@zoominternet.net ) and I can try to get back to you.

I have 32 coasters in my track record.....I'm so proud of myself.

I don't get the magazine but if the car looks like the one they had at the IAAPA show then the spinning car is for the new duelling spinning coaster in Phantasia Land. The coasters are called Winjas Fear and Winjas Force, not Tomb Raider: The Ride.

Maurer Sohne introduced those cars for a couple of years ago so they aren't that new...

That capacity doesn't sounds like it could hold 70 people at once does it?

IU shocks the world!

(and screws up 99% of people's brackets. :))

Not to burst anyone bubble here, but being the one that took the picture in question, I can assure you that the ride vehicle shown in that photo is not for Tomb Raider: The Ride or anything else going in at PKI this year.

-Sean (who has heard the park state many times that Tomb Raider isn't a coaster, nor is it a Spiderman-type ride) F.

I thought they said it was "not a record breaking coaster".

kingcob,

Not that I don't doubt you may have heard the park say that, but it has been stated by the park many times that Tomb Raider is not a roller coaster of any type or form.

-Sean

Well said Sean. Did anyone ever tell you that you should consider public relations as a career?

Exactly correct Sean. Read David Mandt's comment (5th paragraph) from this link:

We all have 1 week until we all know "What's inside the box?"

I noticed something in that paragraph you just talked of.

''It's not a traditional roller coaster, but the actual conveyance device that moves you through the adventure -"

That paragraph said it isn't a traditional coaster. Then it goes on to say but...

Something you might hear someone say one day "I don't like seafood but I will eat it"

Firstly a conveyance device involves moving people from one place to another. As you can see by that quote, he made a direct reference to a "traditional" rollercoaster when describing what this ride will involve, and suggested to me that this ride might not be a rollercoaster in the sense of it, but may borrow technology from its coasting counterparts?

Anyway, I know the stages of debating it are well over, and you're all just loosing sleep over it now rather than debating it.
