The 6th car on Cyclops

My wife and I had the pleasure of riding Cyclops at Big Cheif last week. I knew the back seat was all that it was reported to be when I saw the sign stating you had to be 18 to ride in the back car, and the seat divider in the back seat with it's many layers of tape and all the padding virtually crushed out of it. My wife's got a bruise in the exact shape of that divider on her upper thigh.

This thing is the definition of ejector air as it is, with 5 cars. But the station has gates for 6 - like a normal CCI. The back set is roped off, and looks like it has been for a long time.

Does anyone know how long it ran, or if it ever did, with 6 cars? It's insane now. I would've loved to try it in the back of the longer train!

I'm pretty sure it opened with 6, and if it did I rode it with the 6th but that was before I started researching anything so I really didn't care which seat I sat in ever, I still remember it being awesome! Any seat is good on that coaster as I recall, GOD I GOTTA GET BACK THERE!

Tuesday's Gone With The Wind.
Elijah Rock.
Is it written in the stars?
La Vie Boheme!!!

Any seat is good, but the back is special on the mid-point hill. I've never felt air quite like it. Kind of like Kennywood's Jack Rabbit on steriods!

What about back on Zeus show a little love man that thing has a great drop in back.

This is a message from don corleone it says lucabratzi sleeps with the fishes.

It really is an insane ride. The airtime, of course, makes it one of the best coasters out there. It is enjoyed by almost every enthusiast who rides it, but not many do ride it.

Cedar Point 2003, and it begins...

There's nothing wrong with Zeus! It's the probably best ride there. I really like the turn around - it feels like it's running faster than the first drop.

It's just that one moment on Cyclops. I've ridden a quite a few coasters, and I have to say that's the most intense air I've ever experienced.

Yah, I got to ride in the back seat cuz i look 18 or 19......anyways. Cyclops has the best air I have had on a woodie that I can remember. I felt like I was going to fall out, and I'm almost 6'6".

Coaster Counter: 80+...I need to sit down and figure it out :)

Zeus is probably the best ride there, but Cyclops is probably the best first-half of a coaster they've got. :)

I only live less then 45 min. from there, and believe it or not, I still haven't been ! Well, that's all about to change...I'm finally going there on Monday. I can't wait ! :)

Shame on you, Joe. 45 minutes and never been. I'm an hour and a half and only been twice... I was going to go again earlier this month, but never did :(

Anyways, coasteraddict, you don't need to be 18 to ride in the back seat anyways. The "sign" (unless they've updated it, which I doubt, so it's probably still sharpie-written text on the hand rails going into the station) is probably more of a scare tactic than anything. Maybe it was enforced when the 6th car was there, but I was never at Big Chief then.

Rideman - That's pretty much my take on those two, as well. "The Drop" on Cyclops is cool, but I still felt like something was missing, a ride!

Joe C - Make sure to stuff your pockets with cash, as the Dells will suck every cent from you. It's a serious tourist trap.

TrBiggar - They were enforcing that rule when I went earlier this month. I saw the ops make kids get out of the last car multiple times.

TrBiggar, you mean it's like the "NO INSURANCE" sign at the ticket window...either it's not true, or the place is operating in violation of Wisconsin law, I think...

Actually, it's a professionally made sign back there. And I did watch them make a kid around 11 or 12 change seats. I think it may have more to do with your size. I can't see them checking I.D.'s.

I drove right past it on every trip to CP, MA, DP, IOA and just about anywhere else until June.

It will be very hard to pass from now on...

The CPlaya 100--6 days, 9 parks, 47 coasters, 2037 miles and a winner.....LoCoSuMo.

Anyone know how much Big Cheif is anyway? Is it pay by the ride or an all day pass, or both?
coaster ken its both
Ken, it is $34 for a 8(?) hour wrist band, and I think $5 per ride if you don't get the wristband. Yes, it's a rip off for 3 coasters, but they are good coasters, and it is Wisconsin's tourist trap capitol.
