Texas SF Parks

On my trip to Texas this spring, which would be the best SF to go to? SF Over Texas, SF Astroworld, or SF Fiesta Texas ? I can only go to one. Also, are there any other parks in Texas worth a visit?
Go to Six Flags over Texas. More and better rides. It's also the birthplace of Six Flags, it being the first Six Flags Park.
I would say you need to make it to Fiesta Texas. Although SFoT does have the best variety of rides, SFFT is probably the best themed SF park you will ever see. Also, the scenery in the park is awesome. There's nothing like riding the best floorless ever right along the side of a rock quarry wall.

Also, if you wait till nighttime, Rattler is a pretty insane ride.

I would suggest SFOT. It's the best park in TX. FT's coaster collection just doesn't measure up, and although there's rumors that AW's cleaning up this year, it's not a sure thing. SFOT will have STOP (if you're visiting after March) and the only hyper in TX. They also have a nice Schwarzkopf. SFOT would be your best bet if you're coming to TX. Now if you're gonna go on to a second choice, you'll have to decide if you want rides or theming and shows.........

If you go to SFFT you can also hit Seaworld Texas which is only a few miles away. They have 2 great coasters in Steel Eel and Great White as well as the usual Seaworld shows and exhibits.

Laugh your troubles away at Riverview, the world's largest amusement park.

With Mr. Freeze down at SFoT I would have to recommend SFFT. Although SFoT has more coasters, SFFT has better quality. S:KC is just awesome and Poltergeist is a blast with lap bars. Also a mentioned above you can visit SWT in the same day and ride Great White (Batman clone) and Steel Eel (junior hyper, just as good as the much taller and much different Titan). Also as mentioned SFFT is themed much nicer and the waits are significantly shorter.
Well comparing Sfft to Sfot. Sfft only has Superman, Poltergiest, Rattler, boomerang, and another coaster, with nice theming. Sfot has Titan, Texas Giant, B:tr, shockwave, flashback, two mine trains, judge roy scream. I go with Sfot it look like it would keep me better occupied.
Screw all that! Just spend an extra hour or two driving and just go to Frontier City in Oklahoma City. C'mon that park needs the money badly!
SKC really isn't as good as it looks and Rattler is nowhere near as good as it looks. FT for Scream and Polty (and Great White and Steel Eel if you're gonna spend time there), OT for BTR, Shockwave, Giant, Titan, and if it's working by the time you're there, Freeze.

I would say SF TX. Titan, Texas Giant, etc. Fiesta Texas is great (Superman:KC is the best floorless) but perhaps go there next year if they get a new coaster. Or go during the summertime (it will be hot) and make a triangle with all three parks. Maybe this year, you can drive from Houston over to the new Six Flags New Orleans and checked out that park as well. Might as well exercise that Six Flags passport if you get one. . .
Go to SFFT for a couple of reasons, SKC is awesome, SFFT is extremly clean and un-Six Flags-like with their quality of service, Sea World is down the street, and San Antinio is a really nice city. Besides lets look at SFOT's best rides: Titan (very similar to Goliath @ SFMM), Texas Giant (a one and only), Mr. Freeze (closed and in St. Louis), and Batman: The Ride (you must have ridden one of these allready). SFOT's main rides are allmost all copies or near copies and finally SFFT has a really cool night firework show where they project images on the walls of the caynon and shoot off some fireworks, a show without peer outside of Disney Parks.

Texas is a pretty big state and those parks are not exactly close together. Why don't you tell us what part of Texas you're going to so we can better recommend a park?

Humor Ingredients: all natural flavors, some artificial additives. Sold by weight, not volume. 100% satisfaction not guaranteed. Void in Texas and Puerto Rico.

If you want unique coasters, go to Astroworld. Texas Cyclone is awesome and Ultra Twister is just sick. Plus you get two Schwartzkopfs.

If you want high thrills, go to Fiesta Texas for S:KC, Poltergeist, and Road Runner Express. I can only recommend riding Rattler for the ride credit. The middle section just kills the ride, and it hurts. There are also plenty of flats at FT plus a Skyscraper:). As others have mentioned, you could hit Sea World and get Batman, oops I meant Great White, out of the way and save the trip to OT. Not to mention you could take a side trip to Schlitterbahn and ride three Masterblasters:)

I would recommend Over Texas, but, Freeze is down:( You may have already ridden Batman. But, then again, you get a Schwartzkopf and Texas Giant is pretty good also. Not to mention you get to see what Disaster Transport might look like if it were outdoors.

As far as your question about the other parks in Texas, I believe they only have kiddie coasters.

Well, actually I am going south to Corpus Christi and am planning on stopping at a park for a day during the drive down. We are determining which way to travel by which park we would stop at. It doesnt really matter which park as far as traveling.

Wow, that's a tough choice. Both SFOT and SFFT are among my favorite SF parks. Actually, they're two of my favorites, period. I'd give the slight edge to SFFT with Mr.Freeze being down. It's the most well themed SF park in the US. And the Superman floorless is terrific. You can't go wrong with either choice however.

"Oh tell me why, do we build castles in the sky, oh tell me why, all the castles way up high".

Since you're going to Corpus Christi I would probably go to AstroWorld if yuo are coming from the North or East. But, if you want a good wooden coaster go to AstroWorld. The other woodies in the state are ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I am not sure about steel coasters, but AstroWorld has 2 Schwarzkopfs the only pipeline coaster in North America and the only backwards Arrow suspended coaster which, IMO, is totally disorienting. Plus there is SWAT and Diablo Falls new for 2003.

Arrow, even the straight parts of our coasters hurt.
I wouldn't quite call all of the Texas wood horrible. The Giant kicks some major booty when it's running good.

Anyway, my question to PB is when are you going? Mr Freeze shouldn't be down all year... not even half.

Am I really that shy?

Here think of it this way.

If you want to get beaten down by the Roller Coasters; Try Astroworld.

If you want to see some good shows, get some good rides; Try Fiesta Tx.

If you just wanna ride coasters, and do nothing else' Try SFOT.
