Texas Giant gets softer seats-Why not Mean Streak?

I just got the May issue of Amusement Today, and it talks about the retorfits of 2001. It talks about FoF, Texas Cyclone, and Texas Giants.

For Texas Ginat it states:

"The Problem: PTC trains equipped with unforgiving hard foam seats and Volvo-style headrests.

The Solution: New Softer upholstered seat inserts and lower padded headrests.

The Result: Riders are raving..."

I don't have a problem with Mean Streak's roughness, but I know many people who do, so my question is why not equip MS with softer seats? Io me it's a win/win situation.

I've been asking that question for about ten years now...

Yep, I was never fond of the trains even in the first two years, but back then it was great.

If I was in charge of CP and could do whatever I want (which I'm not), I would have it 100%completely retracked, un-reprofiled, and slap some GCI Milennium Flyers on there. I'm no expert on wood coaster maintenance, but I bet with some nice new trains that are more geared for it's layout, and a lot of TLC it could be better than it was those first 2 years.

i would really like to see CP go ahead, put up some dough, and let Intamin give MS a big fat makeover. That way, CP would have 4 world class steel rides and 2 world class wooden rides.
