Texas Giant & Rattler

I was just wondering what people think about these two Texas woodies.

Any info on their reprofiling would also be appreciated.

I'll say this:

Texas Cyclone is way better!

Personally, I think Texas Giant is incredible.  It is not, however, a 100% crowd pleaser.  It is rough and tumble and out of control.  The "magic carpet" ending is unmatched

Rattler has the rough and tumble and out of control-ness of the Giant, but there is a real slow part of the ride (the triple helix) that lags.  Overall, I still liked the ride.  Walking up the queue is murder

I think I put the Tesas Cyclone between the two.

What is wrong with the Que? People say its bad I havent been there so what could possibly be so bad about a Que??
Can you describe/explain the 'magic carpet' ending.  I have never ridden the Giant and although I saw a POV video, it was years ago.  Thanks
I pretty much agree with Soggy. Texas Giant is amazing. It is, however, very rough. It is currently tied for my favorite wooden coaster. The helix on Rattler is boring, but the rest of the ride is fast and fun. Especially the first drop, and the drop through the tunnel. Those parts are amazing. Texas Cyclone is inbetween the two. Pretty out of control!
The "magic carpet" ending on TG - the last thousand or so feet of the ride is a series of twisting and turning bunny hops.  Very cool and a whole lot of air time.  As for comparing the two, the first drop on both rides is pretty cool and the tunnel on Rattler is great.  However the last half of TG makes the last half of Rattler look like a kiddie coaster.

Rattler = great beginning, weak middle, good end

Giant = weak beginning, good middle, great end

Cyclone = good beginning, good middle, good end

Top Texas Wood Coasters:

1. Texas Giant- has some good drops, especially the one after the mid brake run. AWESOME magic carpet ending!!!

2. Texas Cyclone- a surprising layout that keeps you guessing, and being wrong. The queue is under the coaster.

3. Rattler- Good beginning, terrible thing in the middle, great ending. A little rough

4. Judge Roy Scream- sometimes you get a little airtime..a few headchoppers...hey, at least it looks good

what's up with the name "Judge Roy Scream"?

Entrance admission: $38

Riding Flight of Fear 7 times in a row: Priceless
Judge Roy Scream was built when SFoT was naming some rides from the old times.  They were naming a person as a ride "Judge Roy SCream"  He is a judge named Roy Scream!  I'm not kiddin either.  I asked someone at Guest Relations.

Sorry to disappoint you, but Judge Roy Scream is not a real person.  The ride's name is a play on Judge Roy Bean, a West Texas saloon-owner and lawman.  SFOT once also had a restaraunt named after "Jersey Lilly", which was the name of Judge Roy Bean's saloon.  Here is link to some info. about the judge:
