Texas Giant

A few years ago it seemed this ride was the best and now I don't hear much about it anymore. Has it been ruined like Mean Streak, did it get rough, or is it still a great ride?

It did get rough, but it is still an amazing ride.

Out of 225 coasters I have ridden, only 2 have given me deep leg and thigh bruises.. The Arkansas Twister(before is was re-tracked) and the Texas Giant. This coaster really could use some GCI lovin' It has been rehabbed in certain spots which have made the transitions from newer track to the old very painful. I honestly dont understand why it won the golden ticket in the early 90s. I guess CCI wasnt around at the time and it was the best woodie for that timeperiod. But now my friends, there is no way this thing should be on AT's top 10 list. There are just too many great woodies out there to choose from. SFOT if you are listening... GCI... CALL THEM!!! THE GIANT IS SICK AND NEEDS SOME MEDICAL ATTENTION!!!

It's still an amazing ride. I've never found the roughness too much, I enjoy getting tossed a bit. The turns are stunning, as is the air towards the end.

This coaster is very tempermental about roughness. It is always thrilling. I have ridden some times and it wasn't all that bad rough, and I've ridden a couple of times where I was scared I was going to break some ribs and have permenantly bouncing vision from the jerking and bouncing feeling. When it is running well I can see how it won golden tickets. However, the smooth rides are dwindling and the rough rides are increasing. Still beats the hell out of the Rattler.
