Why exactly is it called a tera coaster?  Is it like this, tera is to 400 ft as giga is to 300ft?

Nothing has been assigned yet, DDFire.  People are calling it that since it's the SI prefix following Giga...but Intamin has not called it anything new.  I would still classify it as a Gigacoaster...hell, I don't even think we should have a classification for 300+, but that's me.

I agree Jman, what is a name anyway? Just that. It's totally arbitrary. I for one would not be surprised if Intamin calls their 400 ft ride a giga coaster also.

But they could also call it a hyper coaster for all I care. It really doesn't matter (Nonetheless I think Giga coaster is an awsome name).

The prefixes refer to powers of ten, which is why I fobid their use when talking about multiples of 100!
