Teen injured in gang rumble at Thorpe Park

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

A teenager was left with severe head injuries after a fight broke out between two gangs at a Thorpe Park fast food outlet on Sunday, as thrill seekers enjoyed a sun-packed day at the park. Witnesses are being sought to the serious assault which happened at the busy KFC restaurant in the grounds of the amusement park on Sunday, July 16, at about 3pm, when two separate groups of youths, aged between 17 and early 20s, were inside the eatery.

KFC brings out the violence in everyone.
I SAID EXTRA CRISPY!!!! :)

That is sad.

So much for the theory that this kind of stupidity only happens at Six Flags parks. Just crazy...
^Point well taken.

I thought that theory was disproved with the gang fight at Lake Winnie a few years ago?

Incident aside, I still find it really bizarre that KFC has franchises in Europe. I thought Europe as a whole had better taste in food.
I was in the UK for three weeks this past winter and I couldn't believe how many KFC's there were. Every train station had at least one, and the Manchester station had a KFC food court! Good times.
The invasion of American fast food, especially in Great Britain, has been going on for some times. Just recently I was looking at some pics that were taken in Haarlem, The Netherlands, and across the street from the Flower Market is the very noticable Golden Arches of McDonalds.
Jeff: It's worse than that....KFC is EVERYWHERE in Japan. I swear I saw more KFCs than I saw McDonalds.

Anyway, at first I misread the subtitle on the main page. In my sleepy state I thought it said "Boy suffers severed head...." rather than "severe head injuries". Man did Ialmost do a spit take! :)

The UK doesn't exactly have the culinary delights of Italy, Germany, or France.
Had this been over a Chipotle burrito- then it would have made sense.

Aside from that-- what's wrong with people? Shut up, enjoy your chicken and live another day to ride coasters!

You don't like Bangers and Mash, kpjb? Had that for dinner last night, although I'd prefer some good keilbasa.

At least many of the McDonalds in Germany have beer. But yes, American fast food is all over Europe, not just the UK.
The Brittish invasion gave us the Beatles, The Who and The Stones. The American invasion gave them KFC, Taco Bell and Mcdonalds.

I think we got the better end of that deal.

I went to a McDonald's in Italy (yes, I know, but I was in a hurry) and they served beer with the value meals. Also they had a great fresh salad bar.

Big Mac and a Peroni isn't bad at all.

I found a nice little pub in London near Buckingham Palace called the Phoenix that had fish & chips (with a side of peas? why?) for 2 people for £5.99. It was quite tasty, and so was the Scrumpy Jack cider.

You obviously haven't tried deep fried mars bars or deep fried pizza :P

The UK does have some fantastic regional dishes and some excellent home grown produce - Scotch beef, English cheeses (Cornish Yarg - mmmm) and Welsh lamb to name but a few. Unfortunately you have to get away from the tourist trail 'old familiars' and the cook-chill pub grub places to find it :)

Maybe Tussauds should consider renaming Thorpe Park to Ned Park (or ChavLand) hehe

-Jimvy!

do they even have gangs over in britain? lol
I didn't realize that 5 men make a gang. I thought that was a group. Maybe it's the metric system conversion or somehting...
It's fairly understandable with the amount of chavs in that park. The place is swarming with them, and I guess the hot weather got to them... mingled with KFC it can be deadly.
