When you go to this article be sure to also look at the other articles that are referenced at the bottom. Some really good stuff in them.
Did anyone else notice they refer to the motors as linear synchronous motors but then use the abbreviation LIMs? I thought LSMs and LIMs were quite different. And now we also have SSLIMs to try to understand.

They seemed a pretty confused on that. LIMs and LSMs are quite different. A table in the article later states that RnRC uses one sided LIMs which I'm pretty sure isn't the case.
