TEA releases estimated attendance figures

The new Expedition Everest roller coaster helped boost Disney's Animal Kingdom's attendance by 8.6 percent to 8.9 million people last year, the largest jump at any major theme park, according to new estimates produced by TEA Inc. and Economics Research Associates. Their 2006 theme park attendance research continues annual work ERA did for many years for Amusement Business magazine until that publication closed last year.

Not surprised that Magic Kingdom was number one again. I love that place. Funny to see Animal Kingdom beating out Universal Studios Orlando, but you can thank a new roller coaster for that.*** This post was edited by JR Villain 4/6/2007 12:27:09 AM ***
16.6 million people divided by 365 days in a year = 45479 people per day at the Magic Kingdom.

If you count all four major Disney parks in Florida, they have an average of around 123,000 people per day in the parks.

Astounding.
