Tasteless display at Kings Island Fright Fest?

There's nothing wrong with mindless or offensivehumor.

There's a massive chasm of difference between offensive humor and lazy humor.

I'm with those who think the idea is lame. It lacks humor and creativity. It's the equivalent of a comedy just inserting some gastric noise for a laugh instead of actually bothering to think about dialogue or plot.

Awwww come on! Now I like a fart joke! Or just randomly inserted anywhere. Farts are GREAT.

Wooo! Sad? Hmmm... I was most sad when CPoint decided to 'update' the Blue Streak from beautiful CLASSIC coaster to what it is now. Now that was SAD. They had the potential to get bigger, innovative rides, and still keep a little slice of true classic fun. But they didn't. Another topic, I know, but couldn't resist.

Sure the BS change-over was sad, it was an AMAZING experience in its prior operating/mechanical state. Having said that, I also understand the safety factor. I come from the viewpoint having experienced crashing two coaster trains, with guests, into each other which had the old-style manually operated skid-brakes. Living through that then you would realize that yes, the conversion is probably necessary. It is something those of us who have experienced live with forever and I still have dreams about the accident which occurred 20 years ago this summer.

(It was NOT Blue Streak that I was operating, just for the record.)

What does bringing up John Taylor have to do with anything at all? That post made no sense.

And what does Blue Streak have to do with anything? Focus, people.

BS was changed to push-buton brakes in 1994. Still had a big beautiful blue seat with no seat divider and a nice big buzz-bar (and single seatbelt). In 1995, it was converted to individual bars, belts, headrests and seat dividers.

I was a ride operator on the Blue Streak from 92-93, probably making it that much more sentimental to me. Sorry for getting the topic so off-topic.

How bout that KI fright fest!!!

Jeff, weren't you the one who I quoted as saying some of the ideas that went into KI's haunts represented "classless douchebags?" Wouldn't you rather see John's ideas/concepts/designs, that are Disney/Universal quality attractions, at all the parks versus the absolutely crappy/pathetic stuff like at KI that is getting such a bad wrap?!? Is this not another blatant example of having incredible talent within the company and not using it to their full potential?

People that find this type of thing uncreative and not funny are probobly the same people who thought Transformers 2 was bad because it was mindless or people that don't find South Park or Family Guy funny. People like that need to not be so uptight and relax.

People who write posts like this probably don't know what they are talking about. People like that should figure it out before they post.

I posted this in the news section but will add here to:

Everything controversial is/has been removed.

And again, what does that have to do with John Taylor? You're inserting a name irrelevant to the situation.

^I think if I were the "big boss" I would rather have someone with some sense of CLASS, like John, manager and oversee the entire company Halloween events versus the disastor and lying that is occuring at Kings Island right now.

You're arguing for more corporate micromanagement? By a guy who has barely come up for air in the last month working on the CP attractions? I'd rather someone of that talent were creating things instead of managing things.

I don't think it is "micromanagement" when you take someone with incredible talent and put it to use for the benefit of the entire company and not just one park. Sorry, just my opinion.

Do you realize how hands-on he is? How busy he is just to get CP's haunts right? First, he couldn't be as effective overseeing a dozen parks. Furthermore, there's no reason to rubber stamp the same stuff all over the company. Knott's event wouldn't play well at CP, and vice versa. Let each park do a market-appropriate event on their own. Empowerment isn't about empowering one person at the top to tell everyone else what to do.

Steve McNair was murdered while cheating on his wife with a crazy person so now they're making fun of it. He wasn't randomly gunned down in the street. He was only a victim of his own stupidity.

Also, just because you don't like it doesn't mean it wasn't a good idea. We'll have to wait and see what the numbers are like at the end of the year or see if anything changes next year.

You should have taken your own advice on the thread about Cedar Point adding Shoot the Rapids. ;)

I know the Mcnair displays have been taken down, however has the display I took pics of been taken down?
