Talk about a headbanger!
This ride is the Zola 7 at Fuji-Q highland. does anyone know if it has a lapbar, because even if it does this looks painful as hell. http://rcdb.com/installationgallery1523.htm?Picture=2
Your right those lapbars look horrible and may hurt, but there is no inversions on this coaster so it can't be that bad.
I can give you a pretty good answer (it's my picture :) )
Is it a headbanger? No. Is it a smooth coaster, no :) Painful? I don't remember it being so.
95% of the ride is very slow, as it is essentially a dark ride at that point (and FUN!!!). After the shooting dark ride portion it becomes a coaster in the dark. It is neither large or fast, so it really wasn't painful.

The manufacturer of the ride is TOGO! That should tell you that it will hurt! Every TOGO that I have ridden was pretty rough.
But not all the japanese Togos are bad. The American ones, yes
