Takabisha POV, launch and a 121 degree drop

There's no doubt that this ride is impressive. But it's still a bit weird to me that there is a chain lift in the middle of the course.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

I think that was the worst part about Powder Keg. The pacing was completely killed by the mid course chain lift.

This ride looks absolutely amazing, I think the mid-course chain lift is a nice pacing break. Those vertical chain lifts are creepy anyways! The drop looks like the best implementation of a holding brake anywhere imo.

Capacity... ugh... this thing will have LONG lines.

Do people complain about the Beast's second lift?

Not me. Serves as a reminder that the best part of the ride is coming up.

Amen to that.

I don't think Powder Keg's lift is what kills the ride. It is the LACK of elements after that. I love PK and do agree the ending is oh...hum. Should have been more to it.

Not really, but Beast doesn't have a launch at all....

Seriously though, this ride looks fun to me - although I have to agree with RollrCoastrCrazy in that I'm not a big fan of vertical lifts....just plain uncomfortable.

Should've rephrased the question using the words 'lift halfway through the ride'. :) My point remains; I rarely hear complaints about Beast's second lift, and yet this one seems to chafe everyone's butt (and no one's even been on it).

I still haven't been on a vertical lift other than a Chance Toboggan's. Doesn't get much more uncomfortable than that, so I don't imagine this would bother me much. Ride looks fun as hell, and I'm not even a huge fan of multi-inversion coasters.

I don't particularly know or have an opinion on Takabisha. I didn't have a problem with Beast's second lift because it made sense within the pacing of the ride. There was a lot after it and a lot before it. Powder Keg started with a launch into a lot of awesome track, followed by a slow lift into a drop and a low turn. It really made no sense to have the lift there at all and I'm pretty sure the train could have made it back to the brakes without the lift.

Did anyone do a double take with the holding break at the top of the vertical lift hill?

Did this person have permission to have a POV camera on the ride? ;-)

Did you notice the corkscrew turn in the dark?

If there's a break at the top of the lift they better get a welder up there before they open that thing.

From the quality of the video, apparently they got permission for the camera but not for a mount.

Hi

It's a holding break. So it may be ok for a little while.

Good point. Good point.

Hi

How long does it hold? Only a few seconds, from what I understand.
