Tailgating?

Anybody know if CP permits "tailgating" in thier parking lots? I was thinking of cooking out in the morning before the park opens on opening day with some friends.

Somehow I doubt it, and I believe it's actually against the law to have alcohol in the parking lot.

Depends really on how much time before the park opens really.  If we are talking like an hour or two, then its a possiblity.  Anything more then that is highly unlikely.  Parking for the GP usually starts 1 to 2 hours before the park opens.  You can still do your cook out somewhere just outside the booths.  Perhaps on the main road leading to CP.  Like a hotel lot or something.

I believe Six Flags prohibits alcohol on their property, including parking lots.  Open flames are probably against their rules too, I just can't see SF allowing tailgating. :(
Does tailgating always have to involve alcohol? They might let you take a portable grill into the lot with your choice of assorted meats. Sounds like fun to me. Best bet is to call CP and find out what the policy is.
Tailgating is usually associated with tailgating if you've ever done it before. ;)
Though it may not be a good idea to tailgate in the parking lot, your best bet at Cedar Point is to visit one of the parks several pinic shelter. They are located both inside and outside the park(main gate area). I know that the pinic shelter at the main gate have grills(like ones you would find in your local park). Heck, there is even a pinic shelter near Soak City, you could tailgate there, and enter at the Magnum/Resort Gate...

Tailgating on opening day is not a bad idea... especially if they have a few events, like last year, before opening.

And yes, Ohio laws prohibit guests from bringing any alcohol on Cedar Point property.

Anyways, the whole idea of going to parks is to get a high/thrill without drugs or alcohol. I don't think mixing the two would be a good idea, just as mixing drugs isn't.
I'm 16, I'm not planning on having beer. And remember, I want to do this before the park opens, so I dont think I would be able to get into the picnic area. I just want to grill some dogs and burgers, thats all.

joey isch, One pinic shelter, near the main gate is located OUTSIDE the park, thus meaning you will be able to get in there prior to opening. Ditto for the one by Soak City, it is located OUTSIDE the park.

What about the Camper Village? I am sure there are fire rings and grills over there too. Just a suggestion.

We have done lunchtime tailgating on our NorCal motorhome trip. Since our motorhome had a full kitchen, we could cook anything we wanted right there in the parking lot. Also the curtians could be drawn and beer consumed inside the motorhome if we had wanted to... no comment on whether or not that actually happened. ;)

Nothing... NOTHING... can prepare you for... the Fourth Dimension!

Actually Soggy, Camper Village, does not have fire pits(rings). As for grills, I belive each site has one.
