Supports arrive at Knott's Berry Farm for new Intamin ride

Posted Sunday, December 9, 2001 8:18 AM | Contributed by Karl DeAngelo

Supports (of a debatable official color) have arrived at Knott's. The color scheme of the coaster now makes more sense.

Site preparation continues for the coaster. The Supreme Scream queue has been routed through a temporary path so that some space may be claimed for the upcoming construction.

Let the color debate start..........................NOW!

I say they're Sea Foam Green.

I'm just counting down to see how long it takes for someone to ask if this is going to be an impulse.

Pink and light green, eh......Well, I know Knott's is a BERRY farm, but maybe this coaster might be another fruit....I mean, doesn't the generic piece of a watermelon look similar to the half-circle of an impulse? ;)

If you look at the piece on the far left how exactly do you think that fits the design.  It curves opposite of how it would have to for an Impulse. All the other pieces are proving it NOT to be an Impulse.  Lets all get in through our heads, IT IS NOT AN IMPULSE.

I think it will be a launched sit-down coaster. Rumor has it being a hydrollic-launched ride. Some say this is Intamin's Thrust Air 2000...

When are they gonna start pouring footers?  I say the colors are coral and Pool side aqua. ;)

At the end of the day, who cares what it is?

I want to know when is it gonna be ready?

I said it before and I'll say it again. Bust out with your crayola crayons and see that the track pieces are 100% crayola MELON. The supports.....more blue than green. Too blue for aqua, not rich enough for turquoise. Sea Foam green sounds good. Better compare to my crayola crayons.

I always thought teal and red would not mesh, but I kind of like it in this case. I love how coasters are getting "bright" these days, or as my non-enthusiast grandma says "festive".
