Superman:Krypton Coaster

I haven't heard any reviews on this coaster yet.
Anyone got any??

As nutty as people get about floorless rides (even the people who have never been on one), I can't understand why we've heard so little about it. It at least appears to be the most interesting of the lot. Can our Texas friends speak up?

I'm not a Texan, and I haven't even rode it (unfortunately), but I've looked at the recreation on RCT and it looks almost exactly like Medusa expect 70 mph, so you can just put 2 and 2 together. :)

BTW I talked to a kid on Two Face the Flip Side and he said that Superman Krypton Coaster wasn't that good, he might have just gotten confused and been talking about Ride of Steel.

Is there a review for it on thrillride?
Yeah, there's been so much focus on these floorless coasters, it's kind of disappointing not to see any pictures of this ride, because it sounds like a great ride.

We hit Fiesta in June and had a blast on this coaster!

Fiesta is built right in the middle of what appeared to be an old rock quarry. The park is absolutely beautiful, surrounded on three sides by solid rock walls.

Superman Kyrypton was my second floorless and the best of the two I've been on. BKF @ SFO was the other.

The ride uses the quarry walls very well as the first and second drops originate from there. The lift takes you up to the top of the wall where you turn and "dive" into the first loop. From there it's up top again into a heavily banked helix that again dives off the wall back down to ground level. The rest of the ride is very similar to BKF with the same elements throughout. The ride is B&M smooth with no head banging to speak of just like BKF.

What puts it above BKF is the use of the quarry wall. The visual effect from the ground is stunning and the on ride effect can't be compared to anything that I can think of. This is one coaster that must be ridden in the front seat at least once!

We were lucky enough to hit the park on a Tuesday in early June and had the place to ourselves. We managed multiple rides with several front seat spins, no lines and no waiting.

Great ride. Great park(They also have a Huss frisbee that is a must ride spin & puke). Hope to get back there someday soon! *** This post was edited by BEAST on 12/17/2000. ***

Just whizzing past walls of rock at high banked curves must be incredable!
I rode it back in August and for my first floorless I only found it impressive when I was in the front on the far right seat. Lots of good visuals and hang time from that seat with nothing below you except for the rock and water. Coming off of the rocks made it vary unique. For me it was a good ride but not great. It did not compare to my first ride on any inverted coaster. One odd thing about the ride was the location. The station was located actually behind a bunch of other buildings so as you were in line you sucked in exhaust from a burger place and looked at dumpsters. The only thing that made up for it was the short wait. A 15 minute max. wait for a Friday in August seemed odd but was great for multiple laps.
