Superman vs. Millennium Force

I think being the first to attain 300 ft is original and innovative......hence groundbreaking

Metrock, I'm not "turning on you," friend, and I don't see any need for hostile comments like "read before your respond." This isn't Usenet and we generally don't like to hear stuff like that here.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but like I said, you're entering a war of semantics. We all thing of "groundbreaking" as something different. Most of us participating in this thread feel that something of that magnitude (speed, height, etc.) is indeed groundbreaking. You're suggesting that our use of the word is incorrect, when in fact we have no other "official" definition to go on other than "highly original." Given that definition, those of us who feel it is a groundbreaking ride also feel that there's nothing else like it.

If you think that we use the word "too loosley" (spell check), that's fine, but it doesn't make us wrong.

Anything that stands out above the rest (whether its the size, speed, etc) is *groundbreaking* IMO. And since MF does stand out, being that its a 300 ft coaster, is groundbreaking.

At any rate, I'll offer my opinions on the two coasters, not if MF is groundbreaking or not (cough).

When the steel coaster poll is finished, I think SRoS at SFNE will prevail over MF. Most of the people who have ridden both prefer Supes to MF because the layout suits them better as it has more airtime hills, etc. But for me, MF beats out SRoS at SFNE because of the uncontrollable speed througout the rides course. There are *zero* dead spots on it. I am an extreme height and speed freak, and MF obliterates almost every other coaster out there in those categories. It's got suprises, amazing range of forces, and atmosphere. Opening weekend thoughout the entire year, MF had this electric atmosphere that I've never felt on any other coaster I've ridden. Each and every train would come back in awe of the ride. Comments would continue down until the midway where they saw their excited/horrified expressions on the ride. Superman had a GREAT reaction too, but it wasn't the same as MF.

Let it be known, I am one who adores night rides on coasters, and I never got one on Superman. I did get a load of them on MF however.

"It's got suprises"
I forgot aboot that fact. The illustration of the layout sat as my desktop wallpaper for the whole off season. I drew it everywhere. The first time I rode it, it looked like we were gonna turn left instead of right after the first Tickler Hill. The Force is crazy. I hope to ride SupermanSFNE sometime soon, I hear its sweet.
