Grumble... grumble... Makes me want to go now so badly... *sigh* 5 to 8 hours.
Great Video Rob!! Shows the whole ride VERY nicely! I was wondering exactly how that second half looked.

On the other side...It still looks like I'll take X-flight over Superman (granted though, I would never turn down an opportunity to go ride this). I kinda thought that S:UF would do a lot more switching on the back then stomach then back with it's flips. This is one thing I think X-flight has accomplished very nicely. Though I can't wait till they start building both of these models on the larges scale (can't wait to see the pull out on a flying coaster)! Has anyone ridden both yet? C-ya around in Ohio in 1 month!!

That looks like a great coaster, i hope i'll ride it in the future. And the vid is great, shows every thing of the coaster.

One bad thing though, why does the coaster look like it has been built on a dirt pit or something. Some plants would be nice. Well i guess it's SF faults, if i'm gonna blame on anyone...

Great video! yes! I can't wait to ride this. It is going to be a really nice treat for me. It will be my first flying coaster. And I have not been to six flag's over georgia since they built batman. which means, I also have De Ja Vu to look foward too. yea baby! can't wait to go.

I'm glad you guys like the video! The ride was really intense, especially the pretzel loop. With all the lukewarm reviews of Air, I didn't really have much expectations, but that element really blew me away. I wasn't expecting that many forces from a B&M! I mean, I couldn't even keep my head up through it! It was more severe than X's raven turn! Although I think I might give the nod to X, SUF was really impressive! I want to go back and ride.

Robb, that really is well done. Bravo!
Another B&M winner. Oh yeah, since a lot of people were complaining about B&M's lack of originality, this is a fine example of originality. Nothing B&M has done resembles this. Not only did they unveil one new element,(fabulous looking might I add), but it looks like this is the most complete flyer out there.

Great video, Robb. But now I have to figure out a way to get to SFoG this summer. Unfortunately, I will probably have to wait until next year - sigh.

I find the way the seats rotate into position interesting. Especially compared to the way X-Flight does it.

Like I said in another topic... what the hell was Vekoma thinking with on-train hyrdaulics, PLC's and having people on their backs? This system is simple and elegant. Much better.

Well, it is Vekoma after all! =)

Typical Deja Vu cycle:
Floor goes down, floor goes up, floor goes down, train giggles back and forth a bit, floor goes back up. wait 10 min. Floor goes down, train backs 1/4 way up first spike and stops. 45 min later, people still stuck there......

Robb...sounds like an interesting Deja Vu ride to me!

Oh, and excellent video, by the way!

The one benefit from Vekoma's design is the neat trick of when you leave the lift going backwards and the track flips over, you're suddenly going head first and facing the ground. I'm guessing that was a factor in their design and it wasn't as simple as them not seeing an easier way to load the trains.. I agree B&M's design is simpler and I love how the seats pop up and back before the train leaves the station, but I also like the way the Vekoma trains flip you over after the lift. How do the B&M trains pop up the way they do? They don't use hydraulics also?

Speaking of this kind of a thing, I think Arrow could have eliminated the rotation of the seats on X for loading and unloading. It wastes time. They could at least eliminate the rotations between unloading and loading. If no one is on the train, why do they need to flip the seats back? It seems very inefficient.

Awesome video. Short ride, but the pretzel loop looks amazing and dirorienting. Although, I doubt that element would beat the twisting frontflip.

It appears the tilting mechanism is in the station, where it should be. If you think about it, it shouldn't be any different than the mechanical release of an inverter, where the long bar comes down and releases the seats. In this case, it appears the lock that holds the seats up is disengaged, then lowered by a long bar that lifts/lowers the pivoting arm.

The Vekomas are so unnecessarily technical with electrical busses on the lift, break run and stations, PLC's on every car. Needlessly complex.

Ok a few things,

1. This ride is simply amazing, the Pretzel pulls some extremely intense G's very very cool.

2. When the seat pulls up and locks you in the flying position you get an OMG I am gonna fall out feeling, besides the fact that it bangs as it locks and you actually do fel like you are falling.

3. The sysem is very simple, a seat of pivots go into a track in the station, this track is attached to hydraulic cylinders that when moved up or down move the seats up and down extremely simple and efficient. Not many moving parts at all.

4. They are still doing landscaping and such all around the ride. There is covering stuff where things are already planted underneath and they are still working on almost all of the lanscaping, expect a lot of plantings and such around the ride. I think they were just trying to hurry up to open the ride. parts of the station arent even painted yet.

5. The flying feeling on S:UF is what makes it so great you are flying the entire time which is what a flying coaster should do.

6. There is not a bad seat on the ride, it does not matter where you sit you cannot see the car in front of you after you go into the flying position, so don't bother with waiting for the front seat as the line was at least 45 mins loner.

Does CCI know how to make a bad coaster?

Nice footage Robb! I am looking to get my first ride on this coaster in a month or so. I can't wait!

I heard a radio commercial for SFOG today claiming S:UF has 8 inversions! Really makes you wonder about the validity of SF's ride stats.

My two favorite coasters are named Superman.

At 01:21 you can see someone with a camera in their hand. It's very close to the fence.
I hope they're planning on planting some trees and stuff around that ride...otherwise it looks insane.
