Superman Ultimate Escape

I went to Six FLags Ohio yesterday for my first time and had a great time! :)

Batman and Villian were great but I was a little disapointed with Superman.

When I first arrrived at the park I was a little bit freightened by Superman.

So I ran over to the entrance of the ride and encountered a very short wait. I decided to ride in the back because I thought it would give me the biggest thrill (biggest vertical drop).

But as soon as they launched us, I could tell this ride was nothing. When the first vertical drop came it did nothing. I didnt even get the freefall feeling.

Am I missing something? There are all these great reviews on the ride but I found it to be nothing spectactular.

Is back the worst place to be ( I thought it would be the best)?

I think it's the uniqueness of the ride that has garnered the rave reviews. I was there two weeks ago and loved the launch, the backward roll, the corkscrew and the momentary dead stop while hanging facing forward! It's truly fun and different than existing type launched shuttles. But in no way should anyone think it compares to traditional coasters... (For my money I'd do Villain again and Again over S:UE, even though I truly enjoyed both!) I'm not sure if the seats really make a difference. I was in the third from front seat and liked the whoosh of charging through the station! Anyway, that's MY take on S:UE.

Well one thing you have to consider is that shuttle coasters are a completely different experience than complete circuit rides. If you go on Superman: The Escape expecting a complete, fulfilling coaster ride, your in for a let down. If you go on expecting a cool launch and some float, you'll love it. Same with Ultimate Escape. The ride is so unique that it's even hard to put alongside most shuttle coasters. I went on this ride not expecting anything, and I knew basically jack about the ride. It really threw a 180 on me when I found it to be the best ride in the park!
I am glad to see that someone had a good time here. I enjoyed my trip there as well.
You are right, Superman does look imposing at first glance. It seems much taller in person than any of the pictures of it I had seen on the web. Superman is quite a rush, I just wish it lasted longer. I don't think seat location makes a big difference though. I've ridden both the front and the back. The front gets you higher on the front spire with the twist. And the back gets you to the top of the rear spire, that's about it. All and all a good ride... makes me wish I were there right now.
I didn't care for S UE either. It's ok the first time you ride but the coolness wears off by the second ride. I think it should have been a full circuit. I think that could have improved the ride.

If it's anything like S:TE it sucks and forget it!
I hate that ride...it sucks frome every imaginable aspect!

I guess some people just don't like high speed and huge air.

Gotta ride 'em all!
Actually, for S:UE I think being a shuttle works FOR it. How many other LIM rides have you been on where you get kicked out by the LIMs while moving BACKWARDS? That feeling is insane. The whole ride's a winner in my book -- I've taken 6 "laps" on it and it's been a rush every time...

It doesn't look much like S:TE either, from what I've seen, although I haven't ridden TE yet.
