Just remember kids, and I'm assuming most of the people who are complaining are kids, Paramount has called everyone of their drop rides "Drop Zone", including the new one at PKD. How original is that, and who cares? If I can be there opening day, I will. The real lazy people are the ones who make statements like "Every Six Flags park has a Superman ride". It's not true.

Olympic10086, SFMM owes you nothing. What has ever happened to suspense and mystery concerning a ride? That's right, you're part of the crybaby "I want it now because I have an internet connection crowd.:"

While some of you are whining over names and logos, I'll be *actually* enjoying the ride. I swear I have to wonder if some people ever let go and just have a good time. Only the most anal people complain about names when it comes to something as trivial(compared with other things in the world of far more importance)as amusement rides.

While were at it, let's make sure all merry-go-rounds and ferris wheels have original and creative names as well, otherwise I'm going to *really* be pissed off...

Wow, can you feel the love? ;)

Intamin Fan, my only gripe about the Mountain and the announcement on Scream was that I thought it was "lazy" because they did not offer the "whole P.R." package. Parks like Cedar Point go out of their way to have EXCELLENT P.R./ Marketing packages when a new ride is announced.

There is the press release, complete stats about the ride, an artist drawing of what the ride will look like, videos with park officials talking about the ride, and sometimes an animation video from Badnitrus with a POV. Now THAT is the complete package. That i smy main gripe with the mountain.

I used to do PR before I went into producing at the TV station, so I do know how important it is to promote your product. I thought, as expected, the announcement for Scream! was "lazy".

I have never said, not once, that the ride will not be good, or even great. My whole problem was the logo, name, and lack of descent info when the press release comes.

There's no such thing a "lazy" in a major company, only "money."

You may have hit it right of the button, Jeff. Maybe it's all about money. But I still think a drawing of the ride should have been included...

Everyone complaining about how "unoriginal" the logo is really needs to get a life. Who cares, it's a Superman ride, the logo's gotta center around the Superman logo, if it doesn't, it's going off of what the theme is. At least it's not an exact copy of the logo and nothing else. Anyway, DWeaver's got a good point, why do you even care about the logo anyway? Shouldn't you be worrying about the actual ride itself? C'mon people, get a life. Why don't we talk about how the ride is looking right now, which I think it's too soon to say anything, since obviously it's not going to show how tall it is in comparison to everything else until much later during construction.
The lame Superman "theme" matters a lot to those of us who grew up with SFOT. The original Six Flags theming was unique, and was the biggest draw to the somewhat low-budget, but groundbreaking park . It started with rides like horse-drawn stagecoaches, slides, and paddle yourself canoes. Each section offered unique food, shops, and shows. The big rides are great and vital to the park, but the destruction of the theming over the years is heartbreaking. The original Six Flags sould be an historical landmark, not a Warner Brothers ad. The French section no longer even exists, but a section devoted to current smash movie "Top Gun" is squeezed in nearby. The last time I was there they had continued the trend of blocking the original pathways so the park is now an incoherent maze. They blocked the main path to Batmanland so that you have to walk between all the game booths to get to it. I love the Titan, but why in the midst of the parks best remaining Texas theming is it called Titan? Very sad.
Geez I type my initial reaction to a logo and look what happens. That's beside the fact it's nearly the same name as a cedar point ride. What's the next SF ride going to be, "Force Millennium?"

-----------------

No, their next ride will be called, "Attack of the know it alls who haven't run a park a day in their life, yet feel it's so easy to make all the right moves in the eyes of CP fanboys"-The Ride.

Since when was I a CP fanboy?
It's not a very difficult observation to notice the correlation between "Power Tower" and "Tower of Power"

How silly of Cedar Point to name a ride Wicked Twister knowing full well that SFEG and Knoebels already have rides named Twister. Give me a break, why should they care? CP is world's away from SFOT. Like I said before, only the most anal people have a problem here.

Back up there in the posts, someone said that without marketing there wouldnt be McDonalds on every corner. That isnt necissarily a good thing. You'd be surprised at what McD's has done to the nation, and i dont mean in a good way. Read all about it in "Fast Food NAtion." Anyway, i dont really mind that it is a Superman theme. Sure, i like to make fun of SF for the unorginiality. But i dont complain when another park is getting a Superman: Ultimate Ride of Steel coaster. And to tell you the truth, i thought S:ROS was a good name. So, moral of te story is to get over it and enjoy the ride...and not to eat at McDonalds.

hey ive been waiting a long time for a new ride at SFOT because i am tired of riding titan, mr.freeze, batman, all day so im excited about this new ride and i dont care about the logo or name or anything because that doesnt really matter. All that matters is if its a good ride. Or at least thats all i care about.

Then, why don't you ride many of the other, better rides at the park? I get tired of riding Titan after just one ride...
