Superman: The Escape (when to ride)

I'm heading to the west coast in a couple weeks to hit up SFMM and was wondering what peoples thoughts were on STE. Does it seem to go higher on the track when there are more or less people in the car? Are they running both trains? How are the lines? Any other SFMM info as well as KBF would be great!! Yes, I do read trip reports but they only help so much!

Ride when it's empty. I rode once with one other person and it went significantly higher. A full train doesn't get near as high. :(

Xcelerator and Deja Vu have been closed this week, so I don't know if they will still be during your trip or not.

The best thing to do is call and ask about it, but I know of a friend who was going there this week called Knott's and they told him everything would be open. Knowing that Xcelerator was supposed to be closed, he asked specifically if it was going to be open. He was put on hold and sure enough when she came back, she told him it would be closed. So, it's hard to get a good, correct answer that way as well.

Hope you have a nice trip!

S:TE definately goes higher (& faster?) with less people in the car. I was lucky enough to ride it about 25 times in a day and had a number of rides with just me and only one other rider. The train almost hit the brake run at the top, it was breathtaking.

Chances are only one side will ever be open at one time, but now the left side is up and running.

If you want the to ride S:TE, and go as high as possible, ride it first thing in the morning. Take the Orient Express (right near the entrance) up to Samurai Summit and Superman.

You will find a very empty ride. :)

S:TE is good for the novelty, but it's really not that great of a ride. The launch does not accelerate very fast, and it doesn't even give me that little tickle in my stomach anymore. The best part is looking over your shoulder on the way up and down, and playing with a coin is pretty fun, also, when going up and down the tower. Like some others have said, if you want a very short wait, then ride it first thing in the morning, but I'd rather ride something else with a short wait in the morning (X). Other advise for SFMM: Get there early (at least a half hour early) and go straight to X. Then go to S:TE and Ninja, and then the coasters in the back of the park (RRV, B:TR, DjV, GR, Psyclone). Then come back to the front of the park around 2:00. The front of the park is practically empty at this time compared to opening. Ride Viper, Revie, Goliath and then Colossus.

**EDIT** Oh, and whatever you do, don't go to SFMM on a Saturday if it is at all possible. You'll ride twice as many rides if you go any other day.

Koaster King: Deja Vu seems to have re-opened. I was there on 3-9, and it was definitely up and running. And, of course, had an enormous line (apparently it was HS Physics Day that day, so lots of high school kids running about all day).
