Ok, even though I don't think its a coaster, RCT classifies it under the "Rollercoasters" tab. RCT is therefore calling S:TE a rollercoaster.
I'll repeat that one more time:
RCT SAYS THAT S:TE IS A COASTER!
So it is one. Why? Because RCT is god.
Thank you.

It's a coaster, just a uniquely flavored coaster. But, I'm the wrong person to ask; I consider Freefall a coaster.
By the way: Jeff?

A roller coaster is a type of amusement park mechanism that runs on any type of railing where a pair of wheel assembly are in equal placement in a conventional manner on both sides of the rail no matter how many sets of assembly there are. And all roller coasters, at any one point on the course uses gravity as a propulsion. Most importantly, all roller coasters cars position riders at a perpendicular angle to the track at any one point of the course. Free-fall rides never position riders perpendicular to the track at any point, but have rider's backs parallel to the 'track'. Stealth at one point has riders perpendicular to the track at one point even though it is a new innovative twist on the modern day coaster, before it tilts riders parallel to the track, riders were upright perpendicular in the station. Free-fall rides never do that. Superman: The Escape fits the roller coaster standards.

Well now I don't know about the running on rails and partially using gravity part. That would classify tons of rides such as flumes and drop rides as coasters.

Read the rest of Krax's post. Drop rides arent coasters.
