Superman the Escape @ Great Adventure

I swear to GOD i am not making this up! Sunday i was about to leave when i saw that rolling thunder was stuck. An employee said to me and my friends did u guys get to ride that today? We said yeah, then he said did u see the clearing? I said what clearing? He said that there putting in a superman he said vipers being knocked down and in its place will be a superman:te. I wanted to see the clearing but it was dark and i had to go. that would be great not a smart coaster choice though! what do u think?

Well, unless there are pictures of the clearing i.e. SFOG, I won't believe it. Also, i doubt that there will be anymore LSM powered headaches made for a little while. Maybe he meant Superman: Ultimate Escape

I think alot of the SFAGdv employies like to mess with peoples minds! ,I dont think a superman the escape could go in vipers place since that section of the park is themed tord a western theme unless they names it somthing else with a totaly difrent theme.Plus isent superman the escape 400ft? i dont think SFGAdv would invest in a 400ft coaster after it took them how many years to get over 200? plus i dont think that they are alowed to build anything over 250ft? i dont see it happening,But you never know? Oh yea and i dont think Great Adventure will toch another launch coaster after the sucess of the chiller in 97 where it wasent so fuctinal etc, etc also te capitcy on that type of ride is very low and that would be the worst thing they could get.

I find this a bit on the Icky side, Impulse coaster wise. As a Great Adventure being my home park i went ther 10 times this season. All those days the batman Chiller had 1-2 hour lines and Very slow runs. If great adventure even gets a coaster, Impusle is not the way. PLUS, why would great adventure put sperman in Frontier Adventures?!?

I say make a B&M stand up called superman where the stunt show was! That show hasn't been in play for about 2 years now right? I expect to see something new there in 2002 or 2003!

Absolutely. I'd love to see a great B&M standup in that location. The superman rumor was around back before they even built the Chiller. Superman TE is not a small ride. It takes up a tremendous amount of groundspace before racing up the vertical tower. I think an impulse coaster would be more likely.I'm not sure about any height restrictions, however the AFB flighpath is over SFgadv. I'm still begging for a dark ride (not simulator) and a gyro drop.

Instead of putting a standup where the stunt show is, GA should put in a B&M Flyer themed to Superman. That would be sweet. Also they should tear down viper and replace it with a compact and intense standup. That would be sweet.

Superman in viper's place...highly unlikely. Isn't the Safari right across.....unless they theme it to a Nissan Pathfinder racing throught the grasslands.

they should get rid of the stunt show. imagine seeing another B&M in that spot next to Nitro and Batman, that would be amazing. by the way, anybody see ROBO-SAURUS? its was funny.

They have a ton of space behind Viper to extend the plot of land they are using. I see no problem with that being added in that spot. I could see them trying to retheme that area of the park. Considering the only thing wild west about is was Viper and the Cow ride.

I will miss Viper dearly.

Are the rumors still alive on this site?

The B&M flying themed after Superman would work EXTREMELY well! But the first B&M flying coaster in the US would mean good theming. It doesn't seem like they're going for anything that big this year. Now that I look at it, X could have done a lot better.

Viper will definately stay for at least another year...either it will rot again, or they will improve things on it. No new coaster till 2003. They want to see if attendance will go down after the Sept 11'th attacks, so they dont wanna take a chance.
