Superman: ROS in the snow!

Hey everybody..I just got back from SFDL.  The first couple hours were great.  The park was empty.  However arround 4:30pm, as I was getting on S:ROS it started snowing profusely!  After a few minutes it became sleet.  I took a picture, can't wait to see if it comes out!  Later Y'all  ~A
Did you ride it? or did it close?
I was hoping it wouldn't snow this weekend :(

Cant wait  to see the pic......

Very nice. Been there, done that.

It must have been freezin' as hell while riding that beast... I remember last year during fright fest I was numb throughout my entire body when it was in the 30's-40's.

Its one of those rare things that happens, but really cool when you can experience it!

I hope the shot turns out :)

I would think they would have to close the ride down after it snows for saftey was there any ice? What was the actual air temperature, how heavy was the snow or was it just snow showers? The reason Valleyfair closes at the end of Sepetmeber because here in Minnesota our snow seasons are unpreditable.

17 Parks In the 2001 Season!

Wow I wonder if their is some professional photographer that has pictures of coasters in the snow.  That'd be a cool poster.
Oh! I almost forgot... how was FrightFest @ SFDL? (Not to sound off-topic...). What things did they have, and did you participate in any of them? It would be helpful for me to know. [E-mail me, or post on SFDLnet forums, in signature]

Secondly, here are a couple shots of SROS@SFNE in the snow [from coastervideos]: http://www.angelfire.com/movies/coastervideos/superman.html ..

....pretty cool huh?

I have a great picture of MF covered with snow.  Unfortunate I don't own it to post.
Hi again.  I rode it several times hehe, a little snow wont keep me off a ride!  Was running extrememly SLOW, no airtime at all, except front seat, 3rd hill.  The back of the train was a waste (The back is usually one of my favorite seats on the ride).  I do not know what the official temp was.  They would not dispatch the train until EVERY SINGLE seat was loaded, and the were begging people to stay on! Never thought I'd see that!  Laterz ~A
I remember when I was at UB we used to go to Darien Lake in freezing weather. The park would be empty but I was always so frost bitten.....still fun though!!
I bet riding a woodie in the snow would be fun. Imagine how maybe the steel strips might freeze and give a truly wild ride...

Millennium Force: The 8th Wonder of the World!

One thing that still annoys me about SFDL's fright fest is the fact that they don't run predator!  Superman, and predator are my 2 reasons for going back there so much!  I like viper too, I think if they had superman, predator, and viper it would be a nice variety!  A woodie in the mix would be great instead of 2 steel loopers, which all in all are kinda similar! Anyways, all in all fright fest is, well, the same as 2000..oh well.  Although I don't think predator could be any more wild than it already is hehe :)  I'll talk to everyone later ~A

You mean its not running this year either?

I really do hate it when high-end administration lies straight to your face..... "We are not aware of it being closed during previous Fright Fests, but we can assure you it will be open this year..."

Sorry Alan, its closed as usual...With the usual hay bails blocking it off..and they are selling those glazed nuts in front of the entrace so maybe you won't even notice its there LOL!  One neat thing though, they have a big spider attached to predator's lift hill, and some of the giant wheel cabins have halloween scenes inside of them.  ~A
