Superman: Ride Of Steel K'nex model...

I just came up with the idea of re-creating Six Flags Darien Lake's Superman: Ride of Steel with K'nex! The actual model will not have a train to run around the track, but the model will be VERY precise with all the heights and size's down to scale, locations of the footers and supports in the right places, and things like that to make it as exact as possible.

So far I have come up with the track design and footer design (to keep it standing up!).

Starting in the next few days I will post up construction photos as I go along, and you can see these contruction updates at my website (http://sfdl.coasterbuzz.com)

No train? Good plan as someone else has built the train; www.angelfire.com/in2/kfconcepts/kfcoasters/ihyper01.html J/k.

Your model sounds like it will be great. BTW great site, keep up the good work mate.
The models on that page are damned impressive! I just can't imagine how much his fingers hurt after putting together just one of those models. Any of you that have worked with K'nex know what I'm talking about.

***Update***
New construction photos are now up!

Yes, fingers hurt when working with K'nex, as CPgenius mentiones, and that Intamin train is really good! I'll have to try that myself...

Thanks for all the support guys!

Dude that is awesome...really. How many K'nex sets are you going to go through? Those aren't cheap! I'm in the middle of building my own model (out of pop sicle sticks). The progress tends to go much slower since the pieces don't just snap together.

I can't imagine what your fingers are going to feel like in a week...LOL Keep up the good work.

Whassup Alan? It's been a month & you haven't updated the construction photos.

I found this site of an awesome K'NEX model Hypercoaster. Thought you would want to have a look; http://members.aol.com/andhart120/knex.html

I just dont see the point of having a model coaster that does not work. Me, I have a slew of operating carnival rides models and an operating coaster.......
I am building a K'nex coaster. I used the chain and gears and the lift actually works! I also have the wheels under the station that move the car through it. Unfortuanatly, I see no way that a train could ride on the tracks.
