Superman at SFO!!!!!

Anyone else addicted to this amazing coaster? It is now my absolute favorite ride in the world! And the only coaster to make my girlfriend go ice cold...

I've only been on it eight times, but it really is one of a kind. Plus, it's a different ride in every seat.

While I'm sure expense is an issue, I'd much rather see more of these than more Boomerangs or SLC's!

I so agree with you...

Has anyone out there ridden BOTH S:TE (SFMM) and S:UE (SFO) ?? I would like to know how the 2 Super-escapes compare. Superman at SFO did not look too fabulous from photos and specs, but after hearing about the actual ride experience, from actual riders, it sounds like quite a hit. I will put it on my Gotta-try-it list.
Ther's nothing to compare. One is a coaster and the other isn't.

Acually there is plenty to compare having ridden both of them myself. They both use thrust systems, they are both shuttles, they are both named Superman, they are both at Six Flags parks, neither is full curcuit and they were both built by Intamin. Having said that, I'll give the edge to Ultimate Escape, although they both give you quite a rush! But S:UE does a bit more in it's 1 minutes ride time. I am a huge fan of these types of coasters.

Thank you, eastcoaster, for that intelligent reply. I guess if you love these rides, next stop will be Vegas for Speed: The Ride. (lame name, but looks cool)

Gotta ride 'em all!
I think one of those and a CCI woodie would be nice for the CP boardwalk. A great ride.

Whose Line is it Anyway?
I myself am completely addicted and cant wait to go on it again. I have rode it 12 times already and getting ready for a return trip sometime in June. I get goosebumps just thinkin of the thing.
ok yes u can compare S:the escape and S: UE because if batman and robin the chiller and s:ue r considered coasters than S: The escape is a coaster they r no different except fer the fact that chiller has some inversions
I'm hooked. I've been to the park 5 times now and still can't get enough!!!Got to the park at 7:30 last night and had a blast. The park was empty(cold and drizzle).Got in a dozen rides on Supe with 2 rides in the front seat(even when the park is empty there is a line for the front seat). You have to ride the front seat at least once, it is the ultimate rush and definitely worth the wait!!!We got in 8 rides in the back of the Villain and 10 spins on Batman(4 in the front row and 6 in the back,no lines no waiting!!) 30 rides in 2 1/2 hours, never had so much fun in such a short time!!! I didn't have very high expectations for the park this year with Six Flags taking over our Geauga Lake , but that has been completely blown away in just 2 weeks. My biggest problem I have when I get to the park now is what to ride first!!! Everyone should have such problems....It's still hard to believe we have 3 world class ride experiences here that none of the "other" Ohio parks can offer...you gotta love it.
I went to SFO yesterday and was fairly disappointed.

Superman was ridiculous as I we waited for around 2+ hours and the ride is so short and not worth the wait it isn't funny. Yes I knew going in what it'd be like, but it really wasn't that much fun. A classic case of over-hyping. I just don't see what's so great about it, it was very normal/average. A 15 minute wait would've made it better, 2 hours is beyond ridiculous for a ride like that.

Knight Flight had to be the biggest disappointment, too smooth, not enough disorientation, too slow, just a very average coaster at best. It looks great, but besides the floorless design (which you don't even notice - just feels like an invert) there's nothing special about it at all - give me Raptor over that thing any day.

Villian had to be the best new ride there, lots of air time, good pacing and speed. Enjoyed it very much.

The best thing about SFO is that they openly advocate beer drinking in the park and for us responsible adults that's always a plus. :)

Except when you have to wait 2 hours for Superman...:)

Raging Wolf Bobs is now the all-time worst wooden coaster I have ever ridden in my life. God that thing is nothing more than a kiddie-ride.

To even mention that park in the same sentence as CP is a disgrace. PKI maybe, but CP it can't, and never will be, able to touch.

I won't be going back to SFO anytime soon. Not a bad park, but I can't believe how over-hyped it is. I know most coaster people can't possibly be critical of anything, but I am, so, that's just the way I feel.

WOW! Sorry you didn't have a good time, all opinions are taken here, not just the good ones. I think word has been for the most part, positive though. I for one, was plesantly surprised what a good time I had, and I found Superman insane!
Just something to look for the next time you are on Superman at Six Flags Ohio. When you are in line or close up for that matter, look at the ends of the track. They sway enormously. It almost looks as if it is gonna topple over. Check it out next time you guys are there. I think I scared the crap out of some young girl when I pointed it out. *** This post was edited by Lukedog on 6/3/2000. ***
If you watch close enough you can see the whole stucture flex just as the train starts up either side. Watch the track in the station, it sways back and forth on every pass. Next time your in line point it out to someone next to you, it helps keep the lines down!!!
